It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.

Now that the TV deal is done and dusted, do you think we will see a return of the intro pyro and pyro for entrances, etc?

For certain talents, it’s a possibility, but for the average match, not so much.

How does AEW restore the feeling and capture the people’s hearts again? The same people who believed in the original movement and vision.

Make the show better. Book strong characters in matches that have a purpose and tell stories that fans might be interested in watching.

What is a segment on wrestling TV? That was one of the dumbest things you have ever seen. But you genuinely adored and enjoyed it.

Almost any segment that features R-Truth comes to mind. He’s usually spouting nonsense and the segment makes no sense, but it’s almost always amusing and entertaining. Think Truth and challenging/unchallenging Brock Lesnar & The Royal Rumble match.

Were you a fan of The British Bulldog?

Not really. I appreciate the talent and skills of Davey Boy Smith, but during his prime years, I was an NWA/WCW guy and didn’t get to see him wrestle very often. He had a good look and was very strong, but aside from that, I only know small pieces of the man and his career.

Matt Hardy believes that Chris Jericho is the MVP of the first five years of AEW Dynamite. Agree or disagree?

I can see why Matt would make that statement and there is an argument to be made that Jericho was probably the most consistent character AEW had for the past half-decade. But I think arguments can be made for Bryan Danielson, Moxley, and MJF as well. I think my choice for AEW’s MVP.

Describe Nick Aldis in three words or less.

British, consistent, and good.

Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes & Ric Flair versus Hulk Hogan, Roman Reigns & Brock Lesnar. Who wins?

Man, what a fight this would be. I think the question would be which team would implode first. I’d go with Hogan, Roman, and Brock getting the win before all hell breaks loose and everyone ends up fighting everyone else.

WWE has held PLEs in the UK, Australia, Scotland, Canada, Puerto Rico, France & Germany. What other countries would you like to see them visit for a PLE?

Mexico, Japan, and Israel would be the next most logical options.

How do you feel about the dirt sheets and Wrestling journalists in general?

A necessary evil for fans like myself who love to know the inner workings and behind-the-scenes of professional wrestling. Most so-called wrestling journalists are pathetic and live by stealing the work of others, relying on gossip, speculation, and innuendo. I do trust Mike Johnson of PWInsider who actually double-sources any scoops or breaking news, unlike folks like Meltzer, who speculates, makes things up, and presents them as factual. I love reading opinion pieces like Mr. Tito where it’s opinion, but thought out and insightful. I think my stuff falls into that area as well. I give answers in the Q&A based on my opinion as a fan/occasional insider with over fifty years of experience. I would never claim to be a journalist unless it’s sarcasm or a rare piece with actual sources and references. But for the most part, I’m cool with the dirt sheets.

What are your thoughts on Joaquin Wilde?

I was a fan of his when he was in TNA as Zema Ion and I’m a fan of his now. I wish he would get a push by WWE instead of just being buried as part of the LWO, but hopefully one day, they’ll take notice and realize what potential this man has. Wilde is a good-looking guy with a lot of talent. He just doesn’t get the opportunity to show it very often.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
