This is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your resident party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s rock!
Who first pops into your mind when you think of “ECW”?
My first thought this morning when I saw this question was Woman lighting the Sandman’s cigarette. So I’ll go with Nancy Benoit, aka Woman, and The Sandman.
Diamond Dallas Page has signed a new Legend’s Deal with WWE. Thoughts?
I’m honestly surprised that DDP didn’t already have a Legend’s Deal in place. Good for Dallas and WWE. Page is one of the good ones. BANG!
So is Rachel Rodriguez now part of Judgment Day, or will Liv Morgan, Dom Mysterio, and Rachel break off into a separate faction?
I can’t see Rachel hanging out with Judgment Day so I guess that we’ll have two factions who are loosely aligned. We’ll have Dom and his ladies over here while Finn, JD, and Carlito are in group B. Technically, it’s one faction, but each group will do their own thing. Maybe Finn’s group can be the Black & White, while Dom’s group can be the Wolfpac.
Should Mickie James get one more run in WWE?
With hubby Nick Aldis as the General Manager of Smackdown, it’s an option that makes sense. Mickie looks great, and I’m sure that she has one more good run left in her.
How would you like to see a tag team of Charlotte Flair & Tessa Blanchard?
If Tessa could ever get her life straight and get past the self-pity and scandal that has been her career, I would love to see her and Charlotte form a tag team. Just for the history and legacy alone as the daughters of two of the original Horsemen, just imagine the stories that could be told. Hell, picture this. A Horseman faction of Charlotte, Tessa, Lexis King, and Brock Anderson, jointly managed by Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard. Yeah, fantasy booking at its best. But back to the original question. Charlotte and Tessa would make an excellent team.
Is Kamille just the female version of Wardlow?
Kamille is a former NWA Women’s Champion, so it pains me to say this, but in AEW, the parallels are there, and a female version of Wardlow? That’s exactly what she is.
Referee Brian Hebner recently called WWE announcer Samantha Irvin for overdoing announce calls, saying, “The voice of Samantha Irvin is literally making me use my mute button more than I ever have. Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard.” Thoughts?
Irvin does an excellent job as an announcer and Hebner, he’s a referee. He’s not an announcer. He should stick to his area of expertise in wrestling and let others handle the other stuff. He’s entitled to his opinion, but it doesn’t matter what he thinks. Irvin is very good at her job. That’s why she has the job. Let’s see Hebner grab a microphone and do the announcing if he can do better. Otherwise, he needs to just hush up already.
The Iron Sheik versus AJ Styles. Who wins?
The Iron Sheik, in his prime, was a wrestling machine. AJ is a wrestling machine. This would be an excellent match. I think Sheik would come out as the winner.
You’re stuck in a room with either Jamie Dundee, Ryback, or Billy Jack Haynes for 5-hours. Which one would you choose?
Billy Jack is crazy and he kills people. Ryback is just a pompous dick. I’d pick Dundee. He’s a bit out there and wild at times, but I’ve had plenty of friends back in the day who remind me a great deal of Jamie and not a big deal chilling with Dundee. He’s wild, but my old buddy James Junior could run circles around him in redneck insanity. Any of them Pate boys or the twins, Carl & Carson, make Dundee look like a rank amateur. Yeah, Jamie would easily be my choice.
Chris Van Vliet asks you to guest host his show for 3-episodes while he’s on vacation. You can have any guest you want. Who would your guests be?
Lisa Moretti, aka Ivory, Jim Cornette, and my long-time friend and little brother, Mike Youngblood. A very outspoken Hall of Famer, a wrestling historian who never lacks an opinion, and a young man with all the tools, potential, and insights that are second to none. All three would be must-see and make for some amazing moments.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up for now. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and ambushes in the parking lot. I’m Doug and this has been the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’ll see you at the matches.
