Yes, it is another edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I can’t sleep. You’re welcome. I’m Doug. Let’s rock.

Should Punk and Drew main evented Bad Blood or were you happy with the way it went?

I think I’ve already answered this question. Given what happened later in the evening with Roman/Cody and the Bloodline, I think both matches were in the proper place on the show.

Do you believe Mercedes Mone is a failed investment for AEW?

I think that Tony and AEW were expecting a lot more from the signing of Mercedes and their investment than they’ve gotten back so far. There is still a chance that things can turn around and the Mone experiment will prove to be successful, but those odds seem less and less each week.

Do you feel Gunther is one of the greatest WWE Superstars of the last decade?

Gunther is a very special talent and a once-in-a-lifetime type of wrestler. In many ways, he’s the modern equivalent of Brock Lesnar. He might not be in the argument for the greatest WWE superstars as of yet, but he’s quickly getting there.

Should Tony Khan sign Maria Kanellis to a new deal?

Is she still part of ROH? Honestly, I had forgotten she was even on the roster. She’s a talented woman and brings a lot to the table when used correctly. There are far less deserving talents on the roster who probably make much better money than Maria would. Sign her up, Tony.

What are your thoughts on Kurt Angle’s story making it to the big screen?

I wasn’t aware of this, but Kurt has an amazing story to tell, from the Olympics and winning the gold medal with a broken freaking neck, to his involvement in professional wrestling, the struggles with addiction, and so much more. If a Kurt Angle movie is to be made, I would be extremely interested in seeing it.

Do you believe The Hurt Syndicate will dominate the landscape in AEW once they finally reunite?

If MVP, Lashley, Shelton, and maybe a few extra additions are given the opportunity, they will easily be the biggest thing in AEW and dominate things…until either Tony Khan gets bored or the New Elite starts to get jealous. And then it will be to AEW limbo or meaningless matches with no purpose. But for a couple of months, MVP and friends will be the major focus of AEW.

Do you believe AEW shouldn’t have ended Kris Statlander’s partnership with Stokely Hathaway?

It wasn’t a partnership that worked well for either of them. Did Statlander get any higher on the roster or more television time because of Hathaway? Nope. Did having Statlander as his client increase Hathaway’s reputation as a manager or television time? Nope. It was an alliance thrown together because no one had any other ideas about what to do with either character. Neither character benefitted. Good riddance.

Do you think AJ Lee will ever return to WWE?

At some point, I think it’s inevitable. Punk wants her. The other wrestlers want her. The fans want her. And the only thing that possibly seems to be standing in the way is how busy AJ is and finding the time. I’m sure a few extra dollar signs from WWE will change that.

Do you want to see Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio vs AJ Lee and CM Punk?

I haven’t really thought about it, but this could be a fun storyline and match. Sure, why not?

Do you believe The New Day will break up or eventually reconcile?

I think we’ll see a temporary breakup, but nothing too long-lasting or permanent. Any split will only last as long as Big E isn’t there to smooth things over. Once he returns, so will the power of positivity, and the New Day will ride again.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you later with more stuff.

Ubuntu!
