It’s early in the morning and I can’t sleep. You know what that means. I’m Doug and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Are you ready to do this? Let’s rock!

According to Meltzer, The Rock has told WWE that he won’t be able to do Wrestlemania 41. Thoughts?

I’ll believe it when I hear the words come from Rock’s mouth. And even then, given it’s professional wrestling, I’ll still have my doubts. Meltzer has no credibility left. Most likely, this is all just a swerve, if you smell what I’m cooking.

WWE reportedly booked Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, and Naomi as hosts of Bad Blood to address the lack of black talent on the PPV. Thoughts?

More of this nonsense? Adding Naomi struck me as odd, but WWE has been using Bianca and Jade everywhere to help sustain the push of Jade as special and a star-in-the-making. And the criticism has been WWE doesn’t book ‘black men’. There was plenty of representation by POC on the show and the last time I checked, Bianca, Jade, and Naomi are NOT men. It’s just nonsense fake news trying to get a stir.

Kane versus Sting. Who wins?

With both in their prime, this would be an interesting match. Given their statuses in both WWE and WCW, I think the bookers would side with Sting for the victory.

AEW Star Nyla Rose (who is transgender) is still banned from wrestling biological females in the state of Oklahoma as their athletic commission stays with the decision! What is your take on this decision?

Biological men are not women and should not be competing against women in competitive sports. It’s just that simple. Given that pro wrestling is not an actual sport and is entertainment, I don’t see any reason for the state of Oklahoma to stick its nose in this situation, but since pro wrestling is still regulated by the Athletic Commission, it still falls under their rules. And if they say no to men in women’s sports, as they should, Nyla should accept it, wrestle where it’s acceptable, and move on.

The Undertaker says the essence of wrestling will always be storytelling:
“Wrestling isn’t about wrestling moves, it’s not. It’s about storytelling. We use wrestling moves to help tell the story, but it’s not about all that.” Do you agree or disagree?

I’m not going to argue with the Undertaker, especially when he’s 100% right. The man knows that of which he speaks. I wish more people (wrestlers) and promoters would understand that.

What are your thoughts on Don Leo Jonathan?

To be honest, all I know about Jonathan is hearing stories of him from various wrestlers, the Apter Mags, and a couple of videos on YouTube that I looked at after seeing this question. Nicknamed the Mormon Giant, Don Leo was only 6’5 but featured as a big man, power-style wrestler. He wrestled primarily in Canada and Oregon and was a huge factor in the early days of helping to train a very young Andre the Giant. He wrestled for 31 years and passed away in 2018 at the age of 87.

Do you think it’s going to be Undertaker vs the Rock at WrestleMania this year?

No, I don’t think we’ll see these two ever wrestle again. But that being said, I’d be happy to be wrong. I’d much rather see the Rock wrestle a series of nostalgia matches than get involved in the Bloodline drama again.

What up-and-coming Indy Star currently would make a huge splash in AEW, WWE, or TNA?

If this was ten years ago, I’d be heavily pushing for the Atlantic Coast Destruction Crew, aka Ethan Storm & Taz Jackson. Also, Mike Youngblood. But for current up-and-coming talents, the three names that immediately come to mind are Sammy Love, Renegade Warrior Joe Locklear, and Tripp Cautious. All three men are in different stages of their careers right now, but all three have that special “it” factor, work hard, and have the potential to be huge names one day.

Ricky Starks is not injured, but AEW just isn’t using him. Thoughts?

Starks is getting over, but isn’t happy and most likely will be leaving AEW when his contract expires. So what does Tony do? Instead of using him to put over other talents, he just ignores him and lets him sit at home, collecting a paycheck. Being ignored is probably one of the reasons that Starks isn’t happy with AEW. It’s just bad business and doesn’t make sense, but at least Ricky continues to get paid. Crazy!

Do you think Jey Uso will end up “helping” Roman and Jimmy fight Solo and the new Bloodline? YEET or no YEET?

It’s inevitable as we build towards the War Games. Will Jey join Jimmy & Roman? I say, YEET!

And there you go with another edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A in the books. Thank you for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, I’m calling it a morning. I think I’ll go watch a movie on Tubi. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects or a pissed-off Kevin Owens. I’m Doug and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
