It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your resident Guiding Light and Party Host. You have questions and I have the answers. Let’s roll.
Elimination Chamber Match: TNA Champion Nic Nemeth versus WWE Champion Cody Rhodes versus World Champion Gunther versus AEW Champion Jon Moxley versus ROH Champion Mark Briscoe versus IWGP Champion Zack Sabre Jr. Who wins?
Talk about the ultimate championship scramble with all the major titles represented. This would cover it. I will put aside my usual bias and try to break it down as to who should win. Sabre Jr., Briscoe, and Nemeth are not winning. I don’t see Cody winning it either. It would come down to Moxley and Gunther. Let’s go with Gunther chopping out a huge victory in the end.
Netflix has begun running a trailer about the upcoming Mike Tyson versus Jake Paul fight. Are you excited about this fight?
I keep seeing the updates. Will it happen? Will it not happen? I hope that it does and I will be watching Nexflix on that night. My money is on Tyson to win via knockout.
Describe Konosuke Takeshita in three words or less.
Cornette’s favorite nickname.
Who do you think will be the one to challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Title first? Darby Allin or Orange Cassidy?
Darby was the one that Mox defeated to get the title shot and the one that the BCC tried to kill, so it makes sense that Darby would be first in line to challenge Moxley.
Powerhouse Hobbs recently confirmed that he has been cleared for an in-ring return. What do you think Hobbs’ role in AEW will be? Who will he be feuding against?
Since Hobbs’s last match before getting injured was against Moxley, one would suspect he should be going after Moxley and looking for revenge. I suspect that since he’s a black man, he’ll be recruited by MVP, and forced to choose a side in the upcoming Hurt Business versus Swerve Strickland feud. I know that sounds like stereotyping, but that is only bad when WWE does it. If AEW does it, it’s being inclusive and business as usual.
What are your thoughts on Ethan Page facing Trick Williams for the NXT Championship at Halloween Havoc?
It makes sense that the former champion gets a rematch. And I noticed that they’ve brought back the old WCW ‘Spin the Wheel and Make the Deal’ wheel from WCW days. That makes it even better. This should be an excellent match.
Logan Paul feels that he will eventually be facing Jacob Fatu in a match. Would you like to see this match? Who should win?
Paul versus Fatu would be an excellent match, but for it to happen, someone would have to turn babyface and I can’t see that happening with either man anytime soon. It might happen someday, but I don’t think it will be anytime soon. And when it does happen, Fatu should win.
If you could bring 1 former WWE talent back, who would it be?
I want to see Heath Slater back in WWE and challenging for some championship gold. He’s a good worker that everyone loves and he has kids. Bring the dude back already.
It’s been over a year since Nick Aldis took charge of SmackDown. On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate his role as General Manager?
Aldis has done a great job as the General Manager for WWE Smackdown. He’s believable in the character, is respected by the fans and other wrestlers, and there is a legit air of badass about Aldis. I don’t think WWE could have asked for anyone better for the role of the Smackdown General Manager.
Teddy Long believes Goldberg should train in NXT for two or three weeks before facing Gunther to avoid embarrassment. Agree or disagree?
That is a good idea and makes sense. It would help Goldberg build up his endurance and sharpen his in-ring skills, working off the ring rust, before trying to perform on a PLE in front of a live audience. Teddy is 100% correct.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up for now. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
