It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.
What do you think AEW should do to revitalize their arena sales numbers?
Strong characters, strong stories, and make the shows can’t-miss events. Lowering the ticket prices and booking smaller arenas might help as well.
How would you discuss wrestling with a fan who was turned off by the product because something the company did (AEW bag spots) triggered a possible PTSD event?
I haven’t got a clue how I’d address that. If they’re triggered by the stupid spots and bad stories, maybe they should stick with WWE or give up watching wrestling.
Which wrestler (past or present) would you have retired you from wrestling and how?
If I’m reading this right, we’re assuming I’m a wrestler and I get to pick who retires me in my final match and how. So who retires me? The Horsemen. And how? A 4-on-1 beatdown inside the steel cage.
I was wondering since the Don Callis Family has multiple storylines going on at the moment(Takeshita’s title, Fletcher turning heel, and the acquisition of Archer), do you think AEW should move Hobbs into a stable like the Hurt Syndicate?
He’s already part of a family in the Don Callis family. But I doubt that matters and I’m expecting a few meaningless feuds and then back to oblivion and some matches in ROH. Don’t believe me? Watch and see.
With Danielson a part-timer now, is it Ospreay or ZSJ to take his spot of best in the world or do you see someone else taking that mantle sooner than later?
Zack Sabre Jr. is the new IWGP Champion so it won’t be him to take Danielson’s spot. Ospreay is the most likely of the current AEW roster.
If you could choose 8 opponents to challenge and lose to Moxley before presumably Darby beats him, at maybe All In Texas? Who would you choose? There are five PPVs in between, three of which can be TV specials. Maybe Jay White is the first challenger?
Eight opponents for Moxley to run over and squash before losing the title? How about Sammy Guevera and Kip Sabian, both members of the Private Party, Daniel Garcia, Lio Rush, Shelton Benjamin, and finally, Darby?
With the recent crossovers in WWE with TNA, do you think we will see any UFC crossovers? I’m hoping for Sean Strickland.
The only crossovers between WWE and UFC that we’re going to see are members of the WWE roster in the audience at UFC events, and UFC fighters in the front row of the audience at RAW or Smackdown. So far as actual matches and fights, that’s not going to happen.
Would you rather see CM Punk as world champion again or Punk vs Cena one more time?
Why can’t we have both? Punk versus Cena in a classic match, and then Punk challenging Gunther for the World Championship. Works for me.
If they were to make a Hart Family film, a la Iron Claw, which wrestlers (or actors if you prefer) would you have play the key parts?
Do I look like a casting director to you? I have no idea. Maybe John Morrison could play the role of Bret, while Kip Sabian can play the role of Owen. Harry Smith as his father, The British Bulldog, while Tom Billington Jr., aka The Dynamite Kid, plays his father.
Who takes the book for the main roster after those three H’s? Do they just promote HBK or does Punk just take the book when he’s done full time in the ring? Or maybe Jimmy Jacob’s now that he’s free.
If something happened to Triple H, I’m sure that WWE has a line of succession in place, with Bruce Pritchard, Road Dogg, William Regal, HBK, and probably others we don’t know about. It won’t be Jimmy Jacobs and I don’t think they would bring anyone from the outside in.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and I’ll see you at the matches.
