It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug and this is how we do it. Let’s roll.
Which wrestling star had the best dropkick?
The first two names that come to mind are Bob Holly and Jumping Jim Brunzell, who earned the name High Flyer as a result of his dropkicks.
Paul Jones & Blackjack Mulligan versus The Motor City Machine Guns. Who wins?
Tee MCMGs are faster, have great teamwork, and are probably a better team, but I can’t picture either of them beating Blackjack Mulligan or Paul Jones. The two former U.S. Champions would win.
Have you seen Jim Cornette’s reaction to the Undertaker and Kane’s endorsement and video with Donald Trump? Thoughts?
Yes, and it was everything I expected. Corny is a great wrestling historian and knows the business better than almost anyone. He’s a legendary manager, promoter, and podcaster. But when it comes to Trump, he’s the poster child for Trump Derangement Syndrome. He exploded and threw a tantrum, as is his thing at times. I doubt that either Undertaker or Kane is stressing it all that much. Corny is just being Corny. Nothing more.
Is the current booking in WWE killing Austin Theory’s career?
It’s not doing him any favors, but he is currently one-half of the tag team champions with Grayson Waller, so he’s not being ignored or held back either. I think his career will be fine.
Which winning streak was the most impressive? Goldberg at 173-0 in WCW or the Undertaker at 21-0 at Wrestlemania?
Goldberg’s streak was full of fake matches and made-up numbers. And it ended due to a taser at Starcade against Kevin Nash. The more impressive of the two? It took Undertaker 22 years to lose a match at Wrestlemania. That’s a streak that can never be beaten.
On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate Harley Race?
While not the most flashy or charismatic wrestler ever, Harley was an 8-time NWA World Champion when the title meant something. The legends of Harley Race and his antics are still strong today. Let’s give him, on a scale of 1-10, a solid 8. One point for each World Championship.
Should Ivan Koloff be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame? How about Rick Martel, Sid Vicious, King Kong Bundy, and Miss Elizabeth?
Yes to every name mentioned. Ivan first though.
What are your thoughts on the Dangerous Alliance? If Heyman wanted to create a new Dangerous Alliance out of current WWE Superstars, who do you think he’d pick?
The original Dangerous Alliance was a star (Rick Rude), an up-and-coming star (Steve Austin), two solid wrestlers who were primarily thought of as tag team wrestlers (Arn Anderson & Bobby Eaton), a veteran (Larry Zbyszko), and a female wrestler. So using that for the outline, I’d think a star (Roman Reigns), an up-and-coming star (Damion Priest), two solid wrestlers who are primarily thought of as tag team wrestlers (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller), a veteran (Sheamus), and a woman (Shayna Baszler). And there you go with a solid group that is certainly worthy of the name, Dangerous Alliance.
Tully Blanchard claims he was released by AEW for missing one event. Thoughts?
Tony got tired of playing with his Tully action figure, and so he threw it away. ‘Nuff said!
If you were told to do a talent switch, effective immediately, with three WWE stars going to AEW and three AEW stars going to WWE, who would you pick to be traded?
For the WWE stars to AEW, Baron Corbin, Apollo Crews, and Shotzi. And for the move from AEW to WWE, I’d go with QT Marshall, Dustin Rhodes, and Will Ospreay.
And there you go with another edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A in the books. Thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. I need a nap. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
