It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s rock!

Bad Bad Leroy Brown versus Bronson Reed. Who wins?

I was watching Leroy Brown on some old Mid-Atlantic video a few days ago and that was a big man. Big and charismatic, but not very good in the ring. He hit his spots, but there was a lot of sloppiness. Bronson Reed would win this one.

What are your thoughts & memories of Chris Chavis, aka Tatanka?

A talented wrestler. I remember the whole Tatanka thing in WWF, the undefeated streak, and eventually joining Ted DiBiase’s faction. That’s all well and good, but the main thing I remember about Chavis was post-WWF when he worked a show at my local high school and teamed with my lil’ brother, Michael Youngblood. Chavis was a big boy, personable, and very cool, albeit professional. It was good to meet him that night.

The rules of the Royal Rumble are that both feet have to touch the floor after being thrown over the top rope to be eliminated, right? So how come Zack Gowen never won the Rumble?

I think you’ve found a loophole. Zach Gowen is the Royal Rumble King. Thanks for pointing that out.

How would you rate Cody’s reign on a scale of 1-10?

He’s worked a lot of matches against a variety of people and has kept the title relevant. His reign hasn’t been great, but it’s solid and effective. He’s a good face for the WWE. I’d give it a 7.25.

Is Oba Femi the male Awesome Kong?

That’s an interesting comparison, but I can kind of see it. Femi is impressive and plays the monster so well, as Kong did a few years ago. It’s a great analogy and I can most definitely see it.

Timeless Toni Storm was ranked #1 on the Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s list of the 250 Best Women’s Wrestlers. Do you agree with this?

No, I don’t. Being Timeless is a great character and gimmick, and Storm is 100% committed. I get all of that. But the majority of her actual matches are not good or memorable at all. That top spot belonged to Rhea Ripley. After all, Mami is always on top.

When he makes his AEW debut, should Bobby Lashley join his former Hype Man, Lio Rush, or MVP & Shelton Benjamin in the new AEW version of the Hurt Business?

He’s most likely going to be with Shelton and MVP, but I actually like the idea of him and Lio Rush reuniting as a team and playing the faces against MVP & Shelton. It’s a different spin on the story and Shelton versus Lashley could be an amazing series of matches. Now that I’m thinking about it, I hope that Lashley and Lio end up back together. That just sounds more fun.

Election Match: Mick Foley & Batista w/ Jim Cornette versus Kane & The Undertaker w/ Linda McMahon. Who wins?

As great as Foley & Batista are, and both are professional wrestling legends, this one goes to the Brothers of Destruction. They would win rather easily and very bigly.

WWE and Netflix reportedly still haven’t decided on a show length for Raw. Do you want to see a 2 or 3-hour show?

I’m pulling for the three-hour shows, maybe with a ten or fifteen-minute variance each week, depending on what’s going on and the stories. Give the timing and format of the show a little flexibility to make sure and fit everything in without getting rushed. It would work well with today’s WWE audience.

If you could pick 1 (yes 1) historical wrestling moment that every new fan should know about what would it be?

I’d pick Starcade 83: A Flair for the Gold. It was the first major PPV event, even before Wrestlemania, and the history that was made there with Race/Flair in the cage, plus Pipervs Valentine, Steamboat & Youngblood vs Slaughter & Kernodle, etc. A great card and a groundbreaking event.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, we’re wrapping things up. I’ll be back later with more stuff. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
