Doug Maynard
It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Are you ready? Let’s rock!
Do you believe Carlito’s segment was done in poor taste or are some WWE fans overreacting?
No. People need to take the sticks out of their asses and lighten up. It fits his character (as being not too bright) and I’m sure he’ll take a bump from the women later to make up for it. Would people be this upset if he had called Drew Irish or Finn Balor Scottish? The comment fits his character and all the criticism is a lot of woken nonsense about nothing. Oy vey!
Describe Roxanne Perez in three words or less.
Future Women’s Champion.
Who would win this match? Gunther versus Oba Femi versus Bron Breakker versus Bronson Reed versus Jacob Fatu.
Five wrestlers who are larger than life, tougher than a 2-dollar steak, and as bad as they come. This would be a fun brawl to see. And I think Gunther would win.
Ronda Rousey or Liv Morgan?
Liv has gotten so much better as a character and is easily one of the highlights of RAW, along with Dominik, each week. But I’d love to see Rousey come back one more time under a Triple H regime. I’m going for Rousey with this one.
Ricochet says that Samantha Irvin isn’t going to AEW. Do you think he’s right, or will Irvin eventually end up being All-Elite?
Maybe the plans aren’t for Samantha to go to AEW YET, but the lure of money, plus limited dates will most likely change the plans before all is said and done. I think we’ll end up seeing her become All Elite.
Is Jey Uso getting involved in the Bloodline feud a step back in his career?
Nope. It’s part of the story and makes sense. Jey will have plenty of time, post-Bloodline, to wear more singles gold. The glass ceiling has been broken. Right now, it’s all about the story and that means Bloodline.
Disco Inferno on Twitter/X. “The biggest failed DEI experiment in human history is letting women have driver’s licenses.” Thoughts?
Well, women are known for being bad drivers. Disco probably shouldn’t have said it out loud though. Disco is trolling the folks on X/Twitter and being sarcastic. He does that sometimes. People need to take the stick from their butts and lighten up.
I just found out that Rico is 63 years old. Is he too old to be involved in professional wrestling?
Rico looked to be in great shape and took the bump with Billy Gunn far better than 98%of the AEW roster would. I don’t want to see him wrestling regularly, but as a character or manager, he would make a great asset for any promotion that offered him a spot.
You’re told to book an All Women Forbidden Door with the ladies of AEW and WWE. No cross-promotional matches. Ten matches. What would your card look like?
No cross-promotional matches? Where’s the fun with that? Ten matches? Okay, let’s do this. Rhea Ripley versus Raqhel Rodriguez w/Liv Morgan. Nia Jax versus Iyo Sky. Bayley & Naomi versus Bianca & Jade. Roxanne Perez versus Giulia. Trish Stratus versus Mickie James. Toni Storm versus Mariah May. Saraya versus Mercedes Mone. Harley versus Thunder Rosa. Kris Statlander versus Dr. Britt Baker. And finally, Anna Jay versus Tay Conti.
Dominik Mysterio is scheduled to wrestle a “former WWE Champion” next Monday at RAW. Who do you think it will be? A member of the current roster or a surprise?
Maybe it’s Bob Backlund? No, but that would be cool. There are so many former WWE Champions on the WWE roster right now, it could be almost anyone. Rey Mysterio is too obvious. Kofi is involved in the stuff with Xavier Woods. Miz is involved with R-Truth and the Wyatt Sicks. I know it’s not him, but just imagine it’s Brock Lesnar. That would blow the roof off the building. But it won’t be Brock. Let’s just pick a name. It’s too early for him to be back, but Drew McIntyre.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up for now. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for the E-Coli burgers at McDonalds, and I’ll see you at the matches.
