Thoughts & Predictions

TNA has their 2024 Bound for Glory PPV event this Saturday, live from Detroit, Michigan. And you know what that means. It’s prediction time. I’m Doug. Let’s rock.
20-person Intergender Call Your Shot Gauntlet: The winner receives a trophy and a contract they can invoke anytime within one year for a championship match of their choosing.
Frankie Kazarian vs. A. J. Francis vs. Sami Callihan vs. Laredo Kid vs. Jake Something vs. Jason Hotch vs. 14 TBD.
I suspect we’ll see stars from NXT, AAA, a few independents, and TNA, all working this poor man’s version of the Royal Rumble. Oh, it’s a gauntlet match, but there is the same difference. Without knowing who is in the match, it’s hard to pick a winner. I’ll just take a guess. Since he’s a big star for TNA and I don’t see him listed in any other match, Eric Young.
Winner: Eric Young.
TNA World Championship: Frankie Kazarian will be the special guest referee.
Nic Nemeth (c) vs. Joe Hendry.
Will Kazarian be an unbiased referee? That’s the big question. I keep expecting TNA to put some gold on Hendry before his momentum fades, but is this the right time and place? Nemeth is an excellent champion and I just don’t see him losing, cleanly. A bad call by the guest referee and we’ll have a new Champion. Yes, I believe.
Winner and NEW TNA Champion: Joe Hendry.
Monster’s Ball match for the TNA Digital Media Championship and International Heavyweight Wrestling Championship.
PCO (c) vs. Matt Cardona.
This match came at the orders of Santino Marella after Cardona screwed up OCS’s wedding and kept dodging matches against the champion. It’s a tough call here. I don’t see Cardona needing more titles right now. Let’s go with PCO for the win.
Winner and STILL TNA Digital Media Champion and International Heavyweight Wrestling Champion: PCO.
Mike Santana vs. Moose.
Moose has had a good run for the past few years, but I think that now, it’s Santana’s time to shine. Look for Santana to get the win.
Winner: Mike Santana.
Three-way Full Metal Mayhem match for the TNA World Tag Team Championship.
The System (Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards) (c) (with Alisha Edwards) vs. The Hardys (Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy) vs. ABC (Ace Austin and Chris Bey).
I like having Myers & Edwards as the champions, but can they overcome the power that is the Hardy Boys? And ABC is always a threat. I’m torn on this one. I think Alisha will get involved and allow the champions to retain.
Winners and STILL TNA World Tag Team Champions: The System, Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards, with Alisha Edwards.
TNA Knockouts World Championship
Jordynne Grace (c) vs. Masha Slamovich
Grace is still the golden child of TNA and a great champion. Masha Slamovich? I just can’t get past the name. It’s so 80s WWE. She’s a good wrestler, but Grace should retain.
Winner and STILL TNA Knockouts Champion: Jordynne Grace.
TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Championship
Spitfire (Jody Threat and Dani Luna) (c) vs. Rosemary and Wendy Choo.
I haven’t a clue on this one, but I am a fan of Rosemary. Let’s see a title switch here.
Winners and NEW TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions: Rosemary & Wendy Choo.
TNA X Division Championship
Mike Bailey (c) vs. El Hijo del Vikingo.
That big push that Vikingo got from Tony Khan and AEW, yet here he is working a TNA PPV event. I wonder what happened? This should be a fast-paced and very good match. It could easily be the dark horse match of the night. I think Bailey should get the win and retain his title.
Winner and STILL TNA X-Division Champion: Mike Bailey.
Josh Alexander vs. Steve Maclin.
I like Steve Maclin, but Josh Alexander is something special. This will be a good match, but Alexander should get the win.
Winner: Josh Alexander.
TNA Hall of Fame Inductions: Bob Ryder & Rhino.
Two new inductions to the TNA Hall of Fame with TNA Co-Founder Bob Ryder and former ECW Original Rhino getting the nod. Congratulations to both men for honors well deserved.
And there you go with my predictions for TNA Bound For Glory 2024. Thanks for reading. Let me know your predictions, along with any thoughts, questions, or comments. And with that, I’m out of here. Take care and I’ll see you later.
