Salutations, my friends. I’m Doug and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m feeling like a plastered panda today so let’s get busy and do this. And away we go.
Trish Stratus & Lita versus Roxanne Perez & Cora Jade. Who wins?
This could be a fun match to see. My money would be on the two Hall of Fame legends for the win.
How would you rate Halloween Havoc on a scale of 1-10?
It was a show. Solid from start to finish, and every match delivered. On a scale from 1-10, I’d give it an 8.
What are your thoughts on Iron Mike Sharpe?
Canada’s greatest athlete and a solid piece of the WWE for many years. I consider Sharpe to be the bar for new talents. If WWE wants to see how a new guy will do, place them in a match against Iron Mike and use that as the indicator. Sharpe was never the main event, but he was the foundation for WWE for a long time. Underrated and truly deserving of a place in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Who will be the next NXT star to come to the main roster in WWE?
I’m still thinking of All Ego Ethan Page as the next call-up to the main roster. He and Punk have unfinished business and once Punk is ready to return to the ring, he and Page would make for a great program while Punk waits for Seth Rollins to finish up with Bronson Reed.
What is more important? Being a great wrestler or being a great character?
Wrestling skills are important, but if a person can’t connect with the audience or tell a story, their success will be very limited. The best talents have both skills and combine them to make a better wrestler, but if a choice has to be made, I’d go with character.
WWE has announced an Indie Wrestling Developmental Program, essentially a developmental program with Reality of Wrestling, The Nightmare Factory, and the Black & Brave Academy. Thoughts?
This is opening the doors for more independent wrestlers to have the opportunity to learn from the best and get seen by the WWE. It’s essentially a feeder system where wrestlers can be trained in different styles and learn from other instructors, be it Booker T., Cody & Dustin Rhodes, Seth Rollins, or someone else. It’s almost like the territories but with a modern twist.
Now that Samantha Irvin has left WWE, how long before she shows up in AEW?
I’ll give her until the first of the year, and then we’ll see her be one of Tony’s surprises and make her debut as Ricochet’s manager. Let’s go with the middle of March.
So the former World Champion that Dominik Mysterio faced is Damian Priest. Was that a letdown or what?
It was a bit too predictable. It was a good match and Dominik getting a win made sense in the storyline. It didn’t hurt Priest since he got his heat back with the beatdown afterward. But still, this would have been a nice opportunity for a fun nostalgia spot or the return of a legend. What if the former World Champion had been Mark Henry, Kane, or Jack Swagger for example? Just imagine the reactions. The audience would have gone nuts.
Do you think Paul Heyman will return on 6th November’s NXT from the ECW Arena?
If Heyman doesn’t make an appearance in some way, shape, or form, we riot! ‘Nuff said!
The Boogeyman versus The Boogie Woogie Man, Jimmy Valiant. Who wins?
While the Boogeyman is a unique character and a spooky dude, his best move is spitting out the worms. Valiant did mostly comedy wrestling in his latter years, but look at the early days of Jimmy Valiant, fighting Jerry Lawler, or teaming with his brother as the Valiant Brothers in New York. Boogie can not be underestimated. Just ask Sir Oliver Humperdink, Gary Hart, or Paul Jones. The Boy from New York City would score the win.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
