Happy Halloween and welcome to the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m your party host and Guiding Light, Doug, here to answer all your wrestling questions. Are you ready? Let’s roll.
Who are your picks for the King and Queen of the Ring 2025?
It’s way too early to be thinking that far ahead, but I’ll go with it anyhow. For the King of the Ring, how about Ludwig Kaiser? And for Queen? No one deserves it more. Chelsea Green.
Who should dethrone Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental title?
How about John Cena so he can finally claim the honor of being a Grand Slam Champion? Bron could win the title back a week or two later, but Cena would be a good pick.
Do you think Goldberg will be the World Champion again?
No, I do not. While I do expect Goldberg and Gunther to eventually have a match, I don’t expect any titles to change hands. If Goldberg wrestles again, I expect the match to be a one-and-done.
What are your thoughts on Sean Ross Sapp being good at his job?
Sapp is no Mike Johnson by any means, but he scores better than fifty percent on getting scoops and breaking news. Too bad he’s such a prick in real life though.
What’s the biggest area of WWE that needs improving right now?
The Women’s Division. WWE is killing it in NXT, but on the main roster, it seems more as if the women are on a treadmill and not getting anywhere. The champs, Liv & Nia, get promoted heavily, and a few others like Tiffany & Rhea get the push, but the rest of the ladies don’t seem as energetic or hot as they were just a few months ago. Maybe it’s just me, but I do feel this is something that WWE needs to address.
Does FTR rank in the top 5 greatest tag teams of all time?
I am a fan of Cash & Wheeler and FTR is arguably one of the best tag teams of the past five years. There is no argument to that. But all time? They might break into the Top 10, but Top 5? I would have to respectfully disagree about that.
What is the best part of Swerve Strickland’s character?
Swerve is a good wrestler with a never-say-die attitude. I like that, plus the loyalty to Prince Nana is cool. I’m still not sure if he’s supposed to be a heel or a face, but that’s more due to the booking in AEW than anything else. I’m looking forward to the upcoming Swerve versus Lashley match. That should be good.
Mick Foley was on CNN showing his support for Kamala Harris. Does this change your opinion of Mick?
Not at all. I’ve always known Mick is a registered Democrat. That doesn’t change what he’s accomplished in his wrestling career and life. Mick is still a good guy and wrestling legend. He may have been dropped on his head a few times too often, but he’s still cool.
Vince McMahon is allegedly forming a new entertainment company focused on movies, TV, etc. Thoughts?
Vince has a billion dollars in the bank and can’t sit still or rest too long. As Vince said about retirement, if you retire, you die. It’s an interesting project and it will be interesting to see how this all develops and turns out. I can’t think that there are too many people right now who would be interested in working with Vince, especially with the lawsuit going on, but money talks so who knows? This is something to keep an eye on.
Christian Cage versus The Masked Superstar. Who wins?
A match between these two wrestling legends in their prime would be an instant classic. The Superstar was so methodical in everything he did in that ring. Christian works the same way and although Superstar has the size and power advantage, Christian could no doubt match him move for move. It’s a tough call, but I think Captain Charisma would squeak out a victory.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Thoughts, comments, and questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And I guess that’s all for now. I’ll be back later with more stuff.
Stay well, my friends, and thanks for the continued support. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches. Happy Halloween.
