I’m Doug and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Yeah, I’ve got a huge backlog of questions waiting and I’m tackling them as fast as I can. Let’s do this.
Does a wrestler’s political opinion influence how you view them?
Not really, but maybe a little bit. A good wrestler who is entertaining and talented in the ring or on the mic will always have my respect and attention. But if they are idiots away from the ring, be it political or anything else, my desire to see them might not stay strong. I love Cornette as a manager, historian, wrestling personality, etc., but when he starts talking politics, I fast forward and skip ahead because I know on that topic, he tends to be delusional. I’m still a fan, but my admiration for Corny drops during those moments.
So Sami Zayn was spotted talking to Solo Sikoa. Which side is he on?
And so subtly, the WWE adds another small twist to the Bloodline story and piques the interest of those who may be getting tired or bored. It’s another layer of storytelling and just adds to the story. What will Sami do? My gut says he’ll side with Jimmy, Jey, and Roman, but at this point, who knows?
Liv Morgan versus Asuka. Who wins?
In a straight-up wrestling match with no interference, Asuka would win. But with Judgment Day factored in, it’s a tough call. I still think Asuka would win.
Do you think Liv and Raquel will take the Tag Team Championships if booked right?
No, I don’t. Liv & Raquel have their own thing going on with Rhea, Nia, Tiffany, etc. They don’t have time to get involved with Bianca, Jade, and the Women’s Tag Team scene. Maybe at some point in the future, we’ll see this match, but it won’t be anytime soon.
Who are the most underrated WWE Superstars from the Men’s and Women’s divisions?
For the men, I’d go with Joaquin Wilde. I remember this guy as Zem Ion in TNA and he is capable of so much more than just a faceless tag team wrestler in the LWO. He’s being wasted in that role. As for the women, Zoey Stark comes to mind. The few times I’ve seen her work, she has been amazing in that ring. She’s consistent and has an air about her that says superstar. I think WWE could use her so much better than they have been.
What would be your Main Event of WrestleMania Night 1?
A match for the WWE World Championship with Champion Gunther defending the title against CM Punk. I want to see this match happen and what better place than at WrestleMania in the main event?
What is your favorite John Cena match?
Most of Cena’s matches run together in my mind, but the ones that come to mind and stand out would be Cena versus Punk, where Punk left with the WWE Championship. Cena versus RND at the second ECW One Night Stand was good. The match where Brock Lesnar took Cena to Suplex City was great. And going back twenty years ago, John Cena versus Kevin Federline stands out in my mind as well. Federline won.
Who should be John Cena’s final opponent, in your opinion?
Most likely, it will be Randy Orton. I think that’s a fitting choice.
Do you have any thoughts on the Motor City Machine Guns?
A top tag team and two very talented wrestlers. Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin are both accomplished wrestlers who have had distinguished careers as both singles and tag team wrestlers. And when together, they’re at their best. I look at them as a modern-day Rock & Roll Express.
What is your prediction for Mr. MITB 2025?
Didn’t I answer this one last night? Maybe it was a few days ago? I can’t remember, but the answer remains the same. Ludwig Kaiser. No, he was my pick for the next King of the Ring. My bad! For Mr. MITB, let’s go with Jacob Fatu. Wouldn’t that make for an interesting twist? I like it. Jacob Fatu is my choice.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And now, I bid you adieu. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches. Be good!
