It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s do this.

What are your thoughts on Hulk Hogan?

As a person, I think Hogan is a liar, a con man, a story-teller, and knows only one thing. That thing is how to promote Hulk Hogan. But he is also one of the biggest names in professional wrestling and was the largest star of the 80s by far. Hogan helped put wrestling on the map for a new generation of fans and take it to new levels never before seen. He’ll never be one of my favorites, but nobody can argue about his status as a legend and one of the GOATs of professional wrestling.

Jake Hager says that Tony Khan threatened his job if Hager wouldn’t stop promoting Donald Trump. Hager also called Khan a communist. Thoughts?

I can’t blame Tony for not wanting his wrestlers to be political, especially in today’s world, but Tony never tried to prevent CM Punk or Chris Jericho from expressing their political views in public. I have no doubts that Tony is a bleeding-heart liberal and would disagree with most of the beliefs of Jake Hager. But would he go so far as to threaten Jake’s job? I doubt it.

Do you feel Hulk Hogan will work directly under Donald Trump now that he is the President?

I think Hogan will work any event that he’s asked to do, and be used as a feel-good type Ambassador for the Trump administration. As long as it benefits Hogan in some way, he’ll milk it as long as he can.

Jim Cornette recently said on his podcast that Samantha Irvin is “not equipped” to be a WWE manager. Thoughts?

If anyone should know about what it takes to be a wrestling manager, Corny would be the one. If he feels she’s not equipped for the role, especially in modern WWE, who am I to argue or disagree?

Who is better? Lilian Garcia or Samantha Irvin?

As an announcer, I’d go with Lilian Garcia. She didn’t last as long as she did in WWE by not being the best. She’s a classic.

With today being Election Day in the good ol’ U S of A today, what wrestler would you want to run your country?

Election Day was four days ago, but that doesn’t matter. A wrestler to run the country? How about The Undertaker? If he could preside over Wrestler’s Court for all those years, running our nation should be a breeze.

How can you fix the Women’s tag division? It’s hard to do without lumping some singles together. What singles would you pair? What story would you tell?

Fixing it requires just the basics. Strong champions with a strong television presence and consistent title defenses. As for challengers, build the challengers and make them earn their shots. Pairing singles? Naomi and Bayley, of course. And the story? The challengers want to be champions. Just keep it simple, with fighting champions and strong challengers and it will all work itself out.

Why do you suppose there is such a disconnect between the NXT Women’s division and the Raw & Smackdown Women’s division?

Is there? I haven’t noticed.

Who do you think beats Mox for the belt? Is Darby still the right choice?

In my opinion, Darby was never the right choice. Who beats Moxley? How about either Shelton Benjamin or Bobby Lashley? The Hurt Syndicate with all of the AEW gold sounds good to me.

Do you think Survivor Series could handle both the Wargames match & the Traditional Survivor Series 5 vs 5 elimination match? Would you like to see these match rules combined?

A Wargames match, plus a couple of traditional elimination matches. And round out the event with either a World or WWE title defense. WWE could easily do it and I think it would make for a fun and exciting event. No combining of rules though. Each match has its own identity. Leave that aspect of the PLE alone.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
