Welcome to the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug and if you have the questions, I have the answers. Let’s spin this shit!

What happened to the Grizzled Young Veterans?

The last appearance I could find for the Grizzled Young Veterans was when they attacked FTR at Wembley Stadium at All-In. Since then, they’ve vanished from AEW TV. My guess is either they decided to not sign a deal with AEW since their contractual status was pending during their previous appearances, or else it’s typical AEW booking, where a person or team is promoted strongly for a few weeks and then forgotten for six months. It’s probably the first, but neither answer would surprise me.

AnnaJay versus Nia Jax. Who wins?

Anna Jay is getting better with each match, but Nia should and would win any match between the two.

How would you rank Slick as a manager in the WWE?

I never considered Slick a serious manager. Slick was more of a comedy figure to me, hired to fill a token role in the WWE. Did any wrestler benefit or improve their status by having Slick as a manager? I can’t think of any.

What is your 1970s Mt. Rushmore of pro wrestling?

For the 70s, I’d say Harley Race, Nick Bockwinkel, Bruno Sammartino, and Jack Brisco.

Jack Perry and Daniel Garcia are the modern-day Rock versus Steve Austin. Agree or disagree?

I can’t even read this statement and keep a straight face. No, I would have to disagree with this one. I like Garcia and Perry has improved as a character since becoming the Scapegoat, but to compare them to The Rock and Steve Austin is like comparing an earthworm to a King Cobra. There is no comparison.

Lars Sullivan is allegedly in talks for a WWE return. Thoughts?

For his brief time in the WWE, Sullivan was fairly impressive and I felt he had a good future. I’d even heard Larry Zbyszko speak about Sullivan and meeting him at the Performance Center and being impressed. But then the alleged anxiety attacks started to happen. And then the past tweets and allegations of stalking and harassment showed up. And finally the gay porn revelations. I saw some of the videos. I was not impressed. Sullivan has too much baggage that he brings with him. While I can see Sullivan doing an Indy show on occasion, I don’t think WWE would want the hassles. I doubt this rumor is true.

Do you think MJF would be a champion if he had jumped ship to WWE?

If MJF had come to WWE, I could see him as the NXT Champion. I can see him as the United States or Intercontinental Champion. I can even see him as a tag team champion to build his character with the WWE fans, much as they’re doing with Jade Cargill. But as the WWE or World Champion? No, not yet.

There are reports that Montez Ford is reportedly interested in signing with AEW when his current contract with WWE expires after recently airing his frustrations with the company publicly. Thoughts?

If that’s what he chooses to do, more power to him. But I guess that he’d quickly find that the grass isn’t always greener. Plus Ford has to take into account his wife’s career and what would be best for Bianca as well. He’s better off staying in WWE and trying to resolve any potential issues or problems.

Are you excited for AEW’s three-hour wrestling block, or will you be tuning into WWE’s Survivor Series?

For those that don’t know, AEW will be airing a three-hour block of Collision and Rampage on TNT from 3 pm to 6 pm, before WWE airs the Survivor Series PLE. So three hours of AEW on free TV and then the WWE and Survivor Series on Peacock. That is a lot of professional wrestling. I might follow the AEW shows online, but I have other things to do besides watching. I will be watching the Survivor Series though. I suspect most others will be doing the same.

Who should Drew McIntyre feud with upon his WWE return?

Damian Priest would be a good opponent, and if the Bloodline business is mostly wrapped up by then, Jey Uso would be good as well.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up for now. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
