It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your Guiding Light and answerer to all questions wrestling. Happy belated Birthday to Carl & Carson. Those two dudes are the best. Let’s do this.
Do you feel The Greensboro Coliseum was the best venue for Sting’s retirement match?
Most of Sting’s career was working in the Mid-Atlantic region, and so many of his highlights took place in Greensboro, it was the perfect location.
What are your thoughts on Jake Hager’s departure from AEW? What would you like to see him do next?
I hate that Hager has to give up the easy money not to do anything, but he wasn’t being used to his potential and it was essentially a waste of the past several years. I’d like to see Jake focus and build up a reputation on the Indy scene, much like others have done in the past, and then return to WWE for a final run. I think he’d do well under a Paul Levesque creative regime.
Do you want to see WWE add more members to The Bloodline?
Not really, no. There are a few other family members out there so if they are added, be it, so long as it’s done in a creative manner that makes sense. I’m fine with the numbers as they are right now.
Do you want to see Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair split up?
A team can not have two Alphas and that’s exactly what Bianca and Jade are. An eventual breakup is inevitable and I’m hoping that it’s a slow build that leads to a match at Wrestlemania.
What are your thoughts on Gable Steveson’s return to collegiate wrestling? Do you think he’ll continue his dominance on the mat?
Considering that he worked for the WWE and the NFL, how would be he eligible for wrestling in college? I don’t get it, but then again, I don’t care either. This dude gives me bad vibes and I don’t care what he does.
How would you define a casual fan?
Someone who will stick around and watch if they come across a wrestling show on television, but they don’t seek it out or keep up with the current happenings. They might know some of the names, but not much more than that.
Which promotion has the better TV product right now? TNA or AEW.
TNA has great television. The show is formatted better and it’s consistent with good matches and stories. AEW is just a damn mess.
Liv Morgan says she retired Becky Lynch. Is Liv right?
Well, Liv did beat Becky to win the Women’s Championship and then beat her the next night as well, which was effectively Becky’s last match. So yes, I would say that Liv has a legitimate argument in her favor.
Wrestling has a tradition of great cowboys. Who is the best?
There are so many to choose from. Ron Bass, Bobby Duncum, Black Bart, Stan Hansen, Dusty Rhodes, Blackjack Mulligan, Tex McKenzie, Bobby Jaggers, James Storm, etc. But the real deal and the best would be former NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion Nelson Royal. He legitimately owned a ranch, plus a store that sold Wild West memorabilia. It doesn’t get any more Cowboy than that.
Who is the biggest goof? Super Humman or Hannibal?
Both of these clowns are mentally challenged and have major issues. Super Humman likes to jump on things and mostly just hurts himself. That’s pretty bad and someone close to him should stop him before he ends up seriously injured or dead. Hannibal is just a complete moron and doesn’t mind hurting others. He had no redeeming qualities at all. I wouldn’t call him a goof so much as just a complete piece of shit and sociopath! But for this question, I’ll go with goof. It’s Hannibal and it’s not even close.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for The Worm and I’ll see you at the matches.
