It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s get to shaking. And away we go.

Tyrus versus Kane. Who wins?

Size-wise, this would be a fun and competitive match. Skill-wise? Maybe not so much. Tyrus is fun to watch in the character aspects of his matches, but in terms of in-ring skills, it’s like watching paint dry. Kane on the other hand, is well-developed and a very talented wrestler. It’d be a fun match, but the end is in little doubt. Kane wins.

Do you think Jake Paul would thrive in WWE? How would you like to see him debut? Alongside Logan or on his own?

Jake is a natural heel and would quickly draw the ire of the WWE Universe. He would do at least as well as his brother in terms of WWE success. I’d have his debut by coming in with Logan, stirring the pot with someone, and being challenged to put up or shut up. The challenge is accepted and a WWE star is born.

Do you want to see Aalyah Mysterio on WWE television in the future?

If she’s used in a creative way that matters, sure. She has a history with her father and brother, Dom, so make it into an angle that matters. But if it’s just for the sake of using her, then no, she can just stay home.

Do you think Saraya’s character needs a change in AEW?

Thus far, Saraya’s AEW run has been a major bomb. Changes need to be made or she needs to be cut loose. One or the other.

Is having two War Games matches at Survivor Series, one for the men and one for the women, overkill and too much?

It kind of kills the effect of the War Games match. The men’s match has had a great build and is continuing a story. The women’s match was seemingly thrown together with no build or reason for being. That defeats the whole purpose of War Games for being the final solution to a major feud. The women would be just as good in a traditional Survivor Series match or used differently. And just in general, two War Games matches in one show, it’s just too much.

If Hulk Hogan started a podcast, would you listen?

Just to sit and count the slight exaggerations, aka lies, would make it worth listening to. Hogan is an interesting guy and a great storyteller. It would never be boring and make for a fun time.

Who was the better manager? Sir Oliver Humperdink or Gary Hart?

It’s like comparing steak to fried chicken. Sometimes, you’re in a mood for one, and other times, want the other one, but both were damn good. Sir Oliver was better with the large groups, helping the wrestlers to get over as part of his family. Hart was better in the one-on-one relationships with wrestlers where he focused on one wrestler, helping them grow and develop as a menace and star. I can’t make a comparison so far as skills and ability to manage are concerned. On a personal basis, I was more into Sir Oliver. He was the consummate heel as a manager, but away from the ring, he was a very friendly and awesome dude.

Harley Race versus Bob Backlund in a Hell in a Cell match. Who wins?

Two of the best old-school wrestlers of all time in one of the most modern, violent matches of the past twenty years. This would be an amazing encounter. Backlund was the better pure wrestler, but Harley was the tough veteran who took the shortcuts as needed and would do whatever it took to secure a win. Harley had more experience inside the steel cage, but Backlund was the ultimate performer who could adapt to any match or situation. It would be rough and bloody. I think Bob Backlund would score the win.

What are your thoughts on TNA? Is it the new #2 wrestling promotion in the United States?

TNA needs to find a way to reach a larger audience, but the show is much better than anything AEW has to offer these days. The show is structured and well put together. And the live events are selling out. Add the partnership with WWE to the mix and TNA is having a great run. As for AEW, ratings are down. Live attendance is down. If Tony Khan wasn’t a billionaire, AEW would be history. TNA has been scraping by for years and by all rights should have been shut down many times. They’re the fighters and underdogs looking for an audience. And they’re finding it every time they put on a show.

Does Dean Ambrose, aka Jon Moxley, belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?

I’m not a fan of Moxley and since his move to AEW, his character and skill-set have declined. In my opinion, he’s more of an embarrassment than anything else. But he is the top guy in AEW right now and he did have an amazing career in WWE, both as part of The Shield and as a solo act. So to answer the question, when the time comes, Moxley deserves a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
