It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m your Guiding Light and party host, Doug. Are you ready for some rassling? Let’s roll.
Would you vote for The Rock if he ran for U.S. President?
While I enjoy most of The Rock’s movies and have a tremendous amount of respect for his skills as a businessman, I’m not sure about The Rock as the leader of the free world. Dwayne Johnson, from all accounts, is a great human being, but would he get my vote? It would probably depend on who the opposition is, but probably not.
Jon Moxley recently revealed in an interview that he’d consider returning to WWE if the SHIELD was to reunite. Thoughts?
The question is, would WWE want him? And why would Roman and Seth want to go backward and reunite The Shield? I can see doing it for a one-time appearance or special occasion, but both Seth and Roman have evolved so far from their Shield characters, that it would be a demotion of sorts and a bad career move. Moxley needs to just be happy and content where he is, as part of AEW. I don’t think WWE has what he’s looking for right now and it would damage others if they did try to accommodate his wishes.
Jake Paul in WWE. Yes or no?
For a few cameo shots, maybe as a sidekick or partner for his brother, Logan Paul? Sure, why not? For anything else, it would depend on the storyline and situation. If he’s serious about committing to a role in WWE, again, sure. Why not?
Now that Jake Paul has gotten past Mike Tyson, should he challenge Ric Flair to a match next? Yes or no?
The scary thing is, Ric Flair would accept the challenge and try to fight Paul. I know this question is a joke, but Flair would want to do it. I hope Paul doesn’t have anyone suggest this idea. It would be a disaster beyond comparison.
Danhausen is under contract with AEW until mid-2025, but they haven’t used him in nearly a year. Thoughts?
Danhausen, although entertaining, is a hard character to use properly. Tony Khan appreciated the novelty of Danhausen when he first hired him, but the charm and uniqueness of Danhausen quickly faded and Tony didn’t know what to do with him or how to use him. Thus, Tony does what he always does and just lets the talent languish in limbo while Tony plays with other toys instead. Danhausen is one of the highest merchandise sellers for AEW so he’s bringing in money, but he’s just not being used and forgotten about. Tony should just cut his losses, give Danhausen a release, and move on.
Is CM Punk the 5th guy for the OTC Bloodline at War Games?
I don’t know and we probably won’t find out until either on the go-home edition of Smackdown or at Survivor Series itself. I hope he is the 5th man. It makes sense.
Netflix had problems with the streaming of the Tyson/Paul fight. Is this a sign of future problems for WWE when they move to Netflix?
Netflix was dealing with nearly 70,000,000 fans attempting to stream at one time during the Tyson/Paul fight. I doubt any WWE programming will be doing those kind of numbers. This gives Netflix a chance to work the kinks out of the system and be better prepared for January when WWE debuts.
Should WWE bring back WCW Monday Nitro as a quarterly special event on Netflix?
It’s an interesting idea and concept, but WCW has been dead for 24 years now. Let its memory rest in peace. So my answer to this idea? While quarterly special events on Netflix seem good, let the show have its own identity and purpose. Do it as a WCW Monday Nitro reboot isn’t the answer.
Which one was better? Peacock or the WWE Network?
The WWE Network. It had a better flow and was easier to find things. Peacock is a good platform for the product, but The Network had a better structure to it and was far more user-friendly.
The Hulkamaniacs, from Survivor Series 1989, consisting of Hulk Hogan, Jake Roberts & Demolition, versus The Four Horsemen (Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard & Barry Windham) w/ James J. Dillon. Who wins?
What an encounter this would be. Jake was so damn good in this era. Demolition is a great team that had a history with Arn and Tully, who were working as The Brainbusters at that time. And you had Hogan. And on the other side, you have arguably the best formation of the Horsemen that was not the original. The Horsemen were the more unified team and would dominate most of the match. But in the end, Ego-Mania would be running wild and The Hulkamaniacs would win the match.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Stay well, my friends. Watch out for Bronson Reed with a Tsunami out of nowhere. I’ll see you at the matches.
