It’s yet another edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I answer ten questions and thirty more suddenly appear. sighs Someone has to answer these wrestling questions. It’s a dirty job, but I’m here for you. I’m Doug. Are you ready? Let’s roll.

What are your thoughts on WWE’s decision to send NXT talent to promotions like WWN?

I think it’s a good thing. It gives WWE talents a chance to wrestle different styles against new opponents while at the same time, it helps the smaller promotions draw a crowd by presenting a WWE superstar as part of their shows. It’s a win-win for all parties involved.

Would you like to see Tony Khan as a regular on-air character in AEW?

I thought Tony was already an on-air character. He shows up for major announcements, plus is the face of AEW on social media. Not to mention, he’s the man at every media event or post-PPV scrum. So like it or not, he’s already there. Do I like it? It doesn’t matter what I like.

Do you like the Jack Perry and Daniel Garcia feud?

I think Perry has come a long way since his Jungle Boy days, and although I think he’s a weasel in real life, this Scapegoat character suits him. And Garcia? He has potential and is a talented guy. The dancing is a bit much at times. Hell, even Disco Inferno calls Garcia a ‘Dancing Fool’. But the kid might be something someday. But in regards to this feud, it means absolutely nothing to me. It’s just bad storytelling and a feud that is going nowhere and means nothing.

What are your thoughts and memories about Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers, aka The Fantastics?

Tommy Rogers and Bobby Fulton were excellent wrestlers and a very good team inside that ring. That being said, they never really came across to me as on the same level as The Rock & Roll Express or the Midnight Express. The characters were a bit too vanilla and bland for my tastes. They had the skills and the matches were excellent, but the personalities didn’t shine through as strongly as they needed to.

Sweet Ebony Diamond (Rocky Johnson) versus Swerve Strickland. Who wins?

Why Rocky Johnson was booked wearing a mask during his run with Jim Crockett Promotions and was being called Sweet Ebony Diamond, I have no idea. Johnson was an established star and a prominent name already at that point, but they gave him a mask and a new identity instead. Go figure. Johnson versus Swerve? This match would suck. The styles are so different and the characters are so far apart, I think they’d have a hard time making it work. Johnson was a far better technical wrestler, but Swerve has the attitude and a more aggressive nature. Swerve would win.

Should WWE book Cody vs Orton vs Cena for Wrestlemania 41?

WWE could do that, but I think there are other plans for Mr. Rhodes, KO, and the Viper. I think Cody will be involved with The Rock, while Owens and Eandy could finish out their program with a Lights Out match or retirement match for Orton. So WWE could book this match, but should they? I would say not.

What is your ultimate “what if” in wrestling?

What if Chris Benoit hadn’t snapped and murdered his family and killed himself? Think about it. Nancy, aka Woman, would probably have had one last run in the WWE and be in the Hall of Fame, along with Chris, by now. Chris would be retired and running a wrestling school while working as an agent or trainer for WWE. And young Daniel would be in college and possibly training with his older brother, in a Cody & Dustin Rhodes-like relationship, working for WWE and becoming stars in their own right. But a weekend of insanity ruined all of that and three lives ended, while many others were changed forever.

Do you think Tiffany should use her MITB contract to cash in and become the First WWE Women’s U.S. title winner?

That’s an interesting idea. Tiffany could use the contract to insert herself into the tournament finals match and become the first champion. It’s sneaky and yet, quite clever. I like this idea and it would be a very Tiffy thing to do.

Imagine you wake up as Triple H today. What dream match are you booking to happen immediately?

I’d bring in Heath Slater for an impromptu challenge to the WWE World Champion, and Gunther for the championship. Gunther accepts and with a huge smirk on his face, fights Heath in the ring on a live RAW. Then Jinder Mahal appears. Drew McIntyre appears. Hornswoggle appears. And with all of these distractions, Heath pins Gunther and becomes the new World Champion. The 3MB curse strikes again. Yeah, that would be wild and never happen in the real world, but I’m the one playing Triple H and it’s a match and scenario I would love to see.

Hulk Hogan versus Roman Reigns. Who wins?

The power of Hulkamania versus the Head of the Table and Original Tribal Chief. I’d expect to see some Bloodline distractions. I’d expect to see the finger and the leg drop. And watcha gonna do… watcha gonna do, brutha, when the Superman punch lays out the strongest force in the Universe. The pythons are put down as Roman Reigns takes the win.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, I’m out of here. I have to go take my meds and poke some bears on X. By the way, follow me on X at @Doug28352. You’ll be glad you did. Take care, my friends, and watch out for Ox Baker and the heart punch. I hear it’s a real killer. I’ll see you at the matches.
