I’m Doug and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. You have the questions and I have the answers. Are you ready for a wild ride? Let’s go.
WWE is going to have to strip Bianca Belair off the Women’s Tag Team Championship following partner Jade Cargill being taken out of action. Do you agree with this decision?
I do agree with that decision. It allows WWE to take the belts off of two of their most dominant women wrestlers without having to have them get beaten, it adds an element of discontent between Jade and Bianca as they build a story to an eventual feud. It’s wrestling 101 and makes perfect sense to me.
What do you think of WWE keeping The Bloodline storyline alive through the winter? Are you excited to see where it leads?
Just when the story seems ready to end, new situations reveal themselves and the story lives on for another day. I expect this story to last at least until WrestleMania and maybe even longer. It’s like a soap opera full of twists, turns, and swerves. I think there are still many miles to go for this story.
With so much uncertainty, what do you think the future holds for Brock Lesnar in WWE? Should he return?
With Brock, you can never tell what might happen. His name has been coming up quite a bit as of late so that has to mean something, but then there is that lawsuit garbage with Janel Grant and her allegations hanging over him so that has an impact as well. I think, when we least expect it, Brock will return, most likely for a match at WrestleMania. And yes, I am excited about the prospect of seeing Brock back in action. The man is a wrestling machine and beast. He’s too good to ignore for long.
Would you like to see the Four Horsewomen finally form in WWE somewhere down the line, or do you think the opportunity has passed?
According to Mercedes Mone, fka Sasha Banks, the reason we never saw the Four Horsewomen on the main roster in WWE was because of a Vince McMahon decision. Vince had Sasha, Bayley, Becky, and Charlotte all on the roster at the same time and for whatever reason, didn’t take advantage of the possibilities. I think their time has passed, but I could see a one-time reunion, maybe in a future War Games match, taking place. These women have such a history and it would be crazy for WWE to not capitalize on it. I think Triple H is smart enough to realize that. Hopefully, we’ll see it happen with at least 3/4 of the Horsewomen. Sasha is in AEW for a while so she’s not possible, but the rest of the ladies? Keep your fingers crossed.
What do you think of QT Marshall? Do you like or dislike him in AEW?
I like QT. But then again, I tend to prefer heels over the babyfaces anyhow, plus I had the advantage of seeing Marshall on the Sammy Guevera VLOG many times and had the chance to see more of him than the average AEW fan has. He’s a great heel and I’d like to see him have a bigger on-screen role in AEW. He’s Tony Khan’s right-hand man and helps with the formatting of the shows, not to mention works as a trainer at Cody Rhode’s Nightmare Factory, so he’s a busy guy. I’d just like to see him wrestle more often.
Do you think Roman Reigns should dive into Hollywood or stay focused on WWE?
Why not do both? If Hollywood has a role, take the time off and pursue the opportunity. In between roles, continue in WWE as the OTC. Reigns isn’t getting any younger so he should take advantage of any opportunity that comes his way, be it in WWE or behind the movie camera. Make the adjustments as needed and do what’s best for Roman Reigns.
If you could reboot AEW tomorrow, using their current roster, what five male/female wrestlers would you start the company around?
Right off the top of my head, I’d say MJF, QT Marshall, Ricky Starks, The Gunns, and The Acclaimed.
Based on SmackDown do you think we get Punk vs Roman at Mania or do they stick to Roman vs someone from the bloodline and Punk vs Rollins?
Most likely, the second option sounds more likely with Roman versus The Rock to finish their story, while CM Punk and Seth can have their fight as well.
Which wrestler from the past would you like to bring into today’s week-to-week television on WWE, AEW, and NXT?
Again, this is off the top of my head, but I think Sean O’Haire would work well in today’s WWE. With his Devil’s Advocate character, plus that look, he would be over big time. For AEW, my brother and NC Independent star Michael Youngblood. All Mike ever needed to make it to the top was the right opportunity. He is that damn good. And AEW is a chaotic mess at times, but I’ve never seen anyone work so well in crazy moments and chaos as Mike does. He seems to thrive on wild moments and would stand out like few others ever could. Tony Khan would love Mike and he’d do very well in AEW. And finally, for NXT, I’d go with Brad Armstrong. Brad was so good back in his day and was so underrated. In an environment like NXT, he’d do very well and thrive. That personality would finally have the chance to come out and be presented to the masses. He would be a great fit for that company.
