I’m Doug, your resident Guiding Light and party host. This is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Are you ready? Let’s rock.
Do you think Keith Lee will ever return to the wrestling ring?
Lee has not wrestled since January 2024 due to an undisclosed injury despite being under contract to AEW. Not knowing what the injury is, it’s impossible to determine when or if he’ll ever return to the ring or not. I hope he does, but I have no way of knowing when.
Would you like to see LayCool involved in WWE someday in the future?
LayCool possibly showing up at the Royal Rumble or in a backstage cameo at RAW would be cool, but aside from that, I honestly don’t have any interest in either woman coming back to WWE. I respect what both women accomplished while in a WWE ring in the past, but there are others now who have taken those spots on the roster and deserve our attention. LayCool does not.
AGREE OR DISAGREE: Bronson Reed should remain involved with the Bloodline story past Wargames.
I agree. Bronson fit in well with the Bloodline team and I’d like to see him and Jacob Fatu compete as a tag team at some point in the future. I think he’d be a welcome addition to the New Bloodline team.
So, is Hulk Hogan the greatest wrestler of all time?
For his era, Hogan was arguably the most popular and successful wrestler of his time, but the greatest wrestler of all time. Let’s see Hogan go move-for-move with Jack Brisco, Harley Race, Brock Lesnar, Curt Hennig, Bobby Eaton, etc. When he can do that, then he can maybe claim that honor, but until then, he’ll have to settle for being popular and drawing money.
According to Jonathan Coachman, Nia Jax played a huge role in his removal from the RAW Announcing Team. Do you think Nia Jax had a legitimate reason to push for his removal in WWE, or was this just backstage politics at play?
Coach says that Nia Jax kept pushing for Renee Paquette to take his spot and that he wasn’t sure of the reason, but she just seemed to be against him from Day 1. Maybe there is more to the story or maybe it’s just Nia wanting her friend, Renee, to have that spot. This whole thing sounds like a nothing burger to me. It’s he said and she hasn’t bothered with a reply. I guess it’s something to keep an eye on, but truthfully, I think Coach is grasping at straws and looking for excuses and someone to blame for losing his spot.
It’s not a wrestling question, but what are your thoughts on President Biden’s decision to pardon his son Hunter?
I think it’s wrong and just bringing the corruption that is the Biden Family to light, but I will admit, I can see Joe Biden’s point in some ways. If I was the President of the United States and someone I know and love, a family member especially was in legal trouble, I’d probably do the same thing and grant a full pardon. Damn the consequences. Family comes first even if it is a family of snakes.
What is your current opinion on Chris Jericho?
Chris has grown stale and is hard to watch right now with his current incarnation, the Learning Tree. Chris is a wrestling legend and a master of reinventing himself to remain relevant, but he’s not what he once was and the gimmicks aren’t quite as successful as they used to be. Chris would do well to take about a year off from wrestling. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and a long break would certainly improve his standing with a majority of the fans. If Chris isn’t ready to retire, then making the appearances few and far between, less is more, would probably improve things quite a bit.
Who do you think will be the next challenger or Gunther’s World Title?
Based on what happened on RAW earlier tonight, it looks as if Finn Balor will be the next man to step up to face the Ring General. So it’s Gunther versus Judgment Day.
What are your thoughts on Beaver Cleavage?
Man, that was a stupid ass character. I had forgotten about it until I saw this question, and the memories came rushing back. Cleavage was played by Headbanger Mosh, aka Chaz Warrington. Cleavage was a man-child based on Leave It to Beaver who had a mother figure who had ample cleavage, played by girlfriend Marianna. This gimmick didn’t last long thankfully and after a few months, Warrington reunited with his Headbanger partner Thrasher. It was just a dumb character that makes me wonder if Warrington was being ribbed or had incited the fury of Vince McMahon or what? The less said about this character and time in WWE, the better.
What is your favorite heel turn in wrestling history?
When Larry Zbyszko turned on his mentor and teacher, Bruno Sammartino. It was unheard of for the time and this feud made the career of Zbyszko, who milked it as the new Living Legend for decades. It was so shocking and drew record gates for the WWF. Other betrayals have come and gone, but this one, which happened in 1980, is still spoken of today. A chair was used and a legend was created. Wrestling Magic 101.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. It’s late and I have an early appointment to keep in the morning. Stay well, my friends, and watch out for traitorous students with a wooden chair. I’ll see you at the matches.
