It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s do this.
If you could put Ricky Steamboat in his prime against anyone from today’s generation, who would it be?
Seth Rollins. Seth seems to be the measuring stick of this era of wrestling. While his character can be annoying, Seth can wrestle anyone and have a good match. In essence, he’s the Ricky Steamboat of modern wrestling. So Seth versus Steamboat. If you like great back-and-forth wrestling, this would be a dream match come true.
Were you a fan of the Great Muta?
I was, especially when he came to the NWA under the management of Gary Hart. The face paint, the martial arts, and the different colored mists. Muta was a strong wrestler and unique. I was obsessed with the character and a huge fan.
It’s time, WWE. Jim Cornette deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. Yes or no?
Yes, along with Bobby Eaton, Stan Lane, and Dennis Condrey. Cornette and the Midnight Express were a unit and should all go in together.
The Rock is not planned to wrestle at WrestleMania 41. Thoughts?
If Rock can’t wrestle at WrestleMania, so be it. I don’t necessarily believe he won’t be there, but if he’s not, WWE will adjust and make due and we’ll still get an excellent show regardless.
Are you surprised to learn that Tajiri was pretending not to speak English during his WWE days?
Tajiri pulled a great rib on the entire WWE. Good for him. And yes, it is surprising to learn, but not really.
What do you think of TNA’s decision to run bigger arenas for Rebellion and Slammiversary?
TNA has been putting on some really good events as of late and live attendance has been rising. Larger crowds means larger arenas. It’s just good business.
Do you think Becky Lynch will be able to breathe new life into her character and career upon her return?
I think Becky will be fine and her character will quickly gain approval with the WWE Universe. She’ll be able to fire up the crowds and be at the top of the WWE Women’s Division once again.
Do you think Big E will find new allies, or will he stand alone against his former brothers?
I think Big E has been cleared or else he wouldn’t be in this storyline to start with. He won’t go it alone because two against one is always a losing battle. We’ll see Big E recruit some help and it will all culminate in a match at WrestleMania.
What do you think about WWE Raw’s archives leaving Peacock?
Is it just RAW? What about the archives for Smackdown, WCW Nitro, Thunder, and the territory shows? Hopefully, this is just in preparation to move all of these archives to Netflix. I’d hate to think they’re gone forever. Hopefully, WWE or Peacock will explain and let us know what the future holds for these archived shows. We’ll just have to wait and see.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, I’m gone. See you next time, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
