I’m Doug and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s rock and roll.
Define “aura”, but it’s just a women’s wrestler.
A woman wrestler who stands out both inside and outside the ring. You take one look and realize she’s a star. The obvious answer is Rhea Ripley, but I have another. I noticed this last night while watching NXT Deadl!ne. How about Stephanie Vaquer?
Can we make it illegal for Max Caster to touch a mic?
The time on the mic is what makes Max Caster stand out from the crowd and different from the rest of AEW. If he’s getting this kind of reaction due to his raps and promos, he’s doing his job.
WCW would’ve never gone out of business if Tony Khan was running it. Yes or no?
That’s an interesting question. The people who had control of TBS didn’t want wrestling on their network so regardless of who the owner was, once Ted Turner lost power in his own company, WCW’s time on the networks was limited. But instead of selling out to WWE, Tony Khan has the money to keep the company alive, provided that they find a new home or network. And afterward, so long as Tony remained willing to throw money away and keep things moving, WCW would survive.
How would you rank these five as bookers during the 90s? Vince McMahon, Giant Baba, Riki Choshu, Paul Heyman and Kevin Sullivan.
I’d go with Heyman as the best, followed by Sullivan and then Vince. Since I didn’t follow NJPW and All Japan at the time, I’d probably just rank them with Chosu at #4 and Baba’s All Japan in the final spot since it was barely hanging on at that point.
Trish Stratus is teasing a possible match with Nia Jax before she retires. Would you like to see Trish versus Nia, maybe at WrestleMania?
If Trish wants to come back, I’m all for it. It doesn’t matter if it’s Nia Jax, Tiffany Stratton, or anyone else. Trish is still healthy and looks great. If she’s available and wants to wrestle, WWE would be foolish to turn her down.
How cool would it be if The Sandman came out to Metallica’s Enter Sandman at AEW Dynamite at the Hammerstein Ballroom?
Have you seen the Sandman recently? The entrance would be awesome and bring back some great memories, but I doubt he can wrestle and even if he could, it’d be a huge letdown from what everyone would be expecting. It’s a nice thought, but reality says no, it shouldn’t happen.
What do you think of WWE potentially bringing back Hulk Hogan and other legends for Saturday Night’s Main Event?
If Jesse Ventura is going to be there, they won’t be bringing in Hulk Hogan. Bringing back other legends such as Jimmy Hart or maybe Wendi Richter, would be fun to see.
Do you think a three-hour SmackDown is a good idea?
Once RAW has moved to Netflix, Smackdown will be the primary show for WWE on Cable. Three hours is probably a good idea.
Do you feel that AEW talent not being used should stay at home, quit complaining, and just collect their paychecks?
YOu don’t get better by staying at home. Not wrestling breaks any momentum the wrestler might have and what’s the cliche? Out of sight and out of mind. Staying at home and getting paid sounds nice, but it will destroy a career.
Do you believe Vince McMahon’s positive impact outweighs his current controversies?
Vince is a sleaze and the current stuff looks very bad, but Vince did a lot of positive things and turned professional wrestling from a small local business into a multi-billion dollar business. Because of Vince, wrestlers make more money than ever and are more respected as athletes and entertainers than ever. Right now, everyone is focusing on the bad, but I think Vince has done far more good than harm.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up for now. Watch out for the Baron and his claw and I’ll see you at the matches.
