I’m Doug and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s roll.

Rick Martel versus The Sandman. Who wins?

Martel is a great wrestler and former AWA World Heavyweight Champion. The Sandman is an ECW legend and epic brawler. Sandman would get in some shots, but Martel would show some arrogance, be a model professional wrestler, and take the victory.

What are your thoughts on Masa Saito?

Masa Saito was a Japanese wrestling legend and former AWA World Champion. He also was a co-holder of the WWF Tag Team Championships with Mr. Fuji. And other than that, my memories of Saito are kind of non-existent. I think he was with Ken Patera when they threw a boulder through the window of a McDonald’s that sent Patera to prison for a while. But his in-ring exploits while notable, don’t make sense to me. He was bland in my opinion and just kind of there. He had a good career, but I don’t get it.

Would you like to see WWE or AEW bring back Wrestle Rock as a PPV or PLE?

I would love to see the WWE superstars do the Wrestle Rock Rumble. Please WWE, bring this show back for one night as a special event. The 40th Anniversary of this classic event is coming up in April 2026. We’ve got some time, but I’d love to see it happen.

If you could recruit 5 wrestlers in AEW and offer them a WWE contract, who would you pick?

The obvious are Ricky Starks, Hook, and QT Marshall. And a couple of wild card picks in Aaron Solo and Sammy Guevera.

How embarrassing is it for the “press” at the Survivor Series for that “journalist” to sing Happy Birthday at a press conference for Naomi?

It was painful to watch and embarrassing for a “real journalist” to do that. It makes the entire post-match media event look like a joke, which it is, but they’re at least supposed to pretend to be serious. Happy belated Birthday to Naomi, but singing at the press conference? That was just stupid.

Thoughts and memories of Brian Adidas.

I know Adidas from a brief stay in Crockett and later, some time in World Class, but aside from a picture or two in the Apter Mags, I barely remember him. He had black hair and needed to shave. Aside from that, I have nothing.

Thoughts and memories of Sweet Brown Sugar.

This was Skip Young putting on a mask and trying to jump-start his career. I remember him more from the Apter Mags than anything else. He wrestled in Texas and I believe, Memphis, but I’m not sure about that. Young was a good wrestler known best for his dropkicks and some high spots before everyone started doing them. I couldn’t pick him out of a police lineup if I tried, but the name and reputation, I do remember. He was one of the good ones.

Do you think Jack Swagger was one of the more memorable WWE characters?

By himself, not really. Swagger was decent in the ring, but couldn’t talk or cut a promo. But the entire package, with Dutch Mantell, aka Zeb Colter, as his manager and spokesperson made all the difference. When they became a team, a legacy was born that people still talk about even now. Swagger had the tools but needed Dutch by his side. And history was made. We The People!

Carmelo Hayes has issued a challenge to James Ellsworth via WWE’s Transfer Window to face him in a match. Carmelo also tagged Nick Aldis in his tweet. Should WWE make this match happen?

Nick Aldis announced that he has a special opponent for Hayes coming up on Smackdown via the Transfer Window. I’m hoping it is Ellsworth. WWE needs to make this match happen.

Should WWE bring back 205 Live?

No, they shouldn’t. Between RAW, Smackdown, NXT, Saturday Night’s Main Event, the syndicated shows, the A&E shows coming up, the PLEs, and WWE Speed, there is more than enough going on as it is. Another show would be the last thing WWE needs.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for the salt to the eyes from Saito and Fuji. I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
