I’m Doug and baby, it’s cold outside. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Are you ready to jingle some bells? Let’s roll.
What are your thoughts on Steve Keirn, aka Skinner?
Kerin was an excellent wrestler who was a huge favorite in Florida before having two big breaks in his career. First, he went the pretty-boy routine as one of the Fabulous Ones with Stan Lane in Memphis before going to the WWE and getting transformed into the gator-hunting swamp rat, Skinner. A talented guy and a human chameleon. Never the top guy, but always an important part of any company for which he worked.
Who would you like to see as Goldberg’s final opponent in 2025 if not Gunther?
If not Gunther, Bron Breakker is the most obvious choice. Gillberg has retired, hasn’t he? I think so. Let’s go with Breakker.
Do you feel Natalya should become the first Women’s Intercontinental Champion?
It sounds good and would certainly be a feather in the cap of the second-generation superstar, but it doesn’t make sense. Natalya hasn’t been a part of any of the current stories and I can’t remember the last time I saw her on television. Having her show up all of a sudden to win the Women’s IC title would seem too fishy and fixed. While I’d like to see Natalya hold that belt at some point, I’m not in favor of her being the first champ. It should be someone we see regularly instead.
What are your thoughts on Rey Fenix’s situation? Do you think AEW handled it poorly?
Yes, AEW handled it poorly. If a talent is hurt, AEW should take care of that talent. Sending them home and not arranging for medical care, plus not keeping in regular contact with said talent, is just poor business management and bad business in general. And it’s not the first time or person. Miro? CM Punk? It’s pretty regular with these guys. Very sad indeed.
Oba Femi versus Scott “Flash” Norton. Who wins?
Scott Norton was hugely misused and underrated in WCW, but he’s a very strong dude. And we’ve all seen what Femi can do each week on NXT. This would be an interesting clash of styles and a fun match to see. It’s a tough call and no disrespect to Norton, but I think Femi would take this one.
Do you value Eric Bischoff’s opinions?
He knows the wrestling business much better than I do so yes, I do respect and appreciate hearing his thoughts on matters that are business or wrestling-related.
Which wrestler do you want to see joining either faction of The Bloodline next?
Since Bronson Reed is out for the foreseeable future, at least eight months, how about a new strongman for the New Bloodline in Omos? He’s got the size and intimidation factor going on and needs something to do. A paid hitman for Solo Sikoa. Works for me.
Are you surprised Kevin Dunn hasn’t been hired by AEW?
Not really. Kevin Dunn is a millionaire as a result of his long career with WWE and doesn’t need the money. And I doubt that Tony Khan feels that the television production of his shows needs any help or improvement. Dunn would be a good investment for AEW, but I think Dunn is too loyal to Vince McMahon that he’d even bother with a minor-league, in his eyes, promotion like AEW. Also, thinking about it, Dunn was not popular with most of the WWE talent. It wouldn’t surprise me if many of the former WWE talents that now have Tony’s ear in AEW haven’t put the bad mouth on Dunn and discouraged any consideration of hiring him for AEW. That may be a factor as well.
Jey Uso versus Matt Cardona. Who wins?
This would be fun to see and could go either way. Matt seems to work better as the underdog and heel with a reason to complain. So I’d give him a reason to complain. Jey Uso would win.
If WWE were to bring back Legend’s House for Netflix, what 8 WWE legends would you want as participants in the show?
Right off the top of my head, I’d go with JBL, Victoria, Ivory, Funaki, Val Venis, Shane McMahon, Hustler Rip Rogers, and Tony Atlas.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
Ubuntu!
