Thoughts & Predictions

Coming up Saturday night on NBC is the return of a WWE tradition after nearly two decades. It’s WWE and Saturday Night’s Main Event. It’s the return of Jesse “The Body” Ventura to WWE. And an event this big means predictions. Are you ready? Let’s do this.

Undisputed WWE Championship
Cody Rhodes (C) vs. Kevin Owens

The build for this has been incredible, and it feels as if Owens has a real grudge and a chance to take away that WWE Championship from Cody. And I don’t think anyone would be disappointed if it did happen. Cody has been a good WWE Champion, but things are getting a little stale in my opinion, and we need a good shake-up. A few months as the WWE Champion by the Prize Fighter would do just that. I’m going for a title switch here.

Winner and NEW Undisputed WWE Champion: Kevin Owens.

World Heavyweight Title
Gunther (C) vs. Finn Bálor vs. Damian Priest

The odds are stacked against the Ring General in this match and it should make for some fun times. Gunther seems to have lost a step in presentation since becoming the World Champion, but I think this is where he redeems himself. I expect Finn and Damien to get in each other’s way to prevent a victory by either man. And Gunther will step in, take advantage, and retain his title as a result.

Winner and STILL World Champion: Gunther.

Women’s World Championship
Liv Morgan (C) vs. IYO SKY

Iyo is good and will hold that title again at some point in the future, but the big story right now is building towards Liv and Rhea at Mania, so a title loss isn’t happening here. Look for Raquel and Dominik to get involved, as will Damage CTRL, but in the end, Liv will manage to get the win and retain her title.

Winner and STILL WWE Women’s World Champion: Liv Morgan.

Tournament Final for inaugural WWE Women’s United States Championship
Chelsea Green versus Michin

Tonight, there will be two matches on Smackdown to determine who will be in this match. I’m predicting Chelsea Green and Michin to win their matches tonight on Smackdown and be in the tournament finals. If either of them loses, I’ll come back and reprise my predictions. But for now, let’s go with Chelsea and Michin as the participants of this match.

As good as Michin is, no one deserves this more than Chelsea Green. She is easily one of the MVPs of WWE right now. Chelsea gets some outside help from Piper and steals a win to become the first-ever WWE Women’s United States Champion.

Winner and NEW WWE Women’s United States Champion: Chelsea Green.

Grudge Match
Sami Zayn vs. Drew McIntyre

After losing in the feud against CM Punk, Drew McIntyre needs a big win to redeem himself and quickly reestablish himself as the resident psychopath and bad-ass dude in WWE. Sami can lose every match and it won’t matter because the fans love him that much.

Winner: Drew McIntyre.

And there you go with my predictions for the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event. Will you be watching? What are your predictions? Let me know in the comments along with any other thoughts or questions you may have. Thanks for reading. And with that, I’m out of here for now. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
