Merry Christmas. I’m Doug and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. We’re Santa’s favorite Wrestling Q&A column. It’s true. Now, ho ho ho! Let’s roll.
Dustin Rhodes has re-signed a new multi-year deal with AEW. Thoughts?
Dustin weighed his options and made the decision that he felt was best for his career and family. Although I’d love to see Dustin back in WWE, I can’t fault the man for doing what he feels is best. Congratulations to Dustin. Good for him.
Gunther versus The Ultimate Warrior. Who wins?
It would be an interesting match and competitive for a few minutes. I think Warrior would be blown up after about fifteen minutes and then Gunther would be in control. Gunther wins.
Oba Femi versus The Undertaker. Who wins?
As impressive as Oba Femi has been over the past year, we’re talking about the Undertaker here. Taker would win and Femi would end up having to rest in peace.
Is FTR in the Greatest Tag Team conversation in modern-day wrestling?
In the conversation? Absolutely! Up until roughly a year ago, FTR was easily among the best tag teams in the world. Although their star has fallen over the past year, FTR can have a great match with any team. They are easily one of the best teams in modern-day wrestling.
The Godfather recently dropped some hints about a return to WWE once they move to Netflix in 2025. Would you like to see The Godfather return to WWE?
The Godfather is 63 years old. He’s not going to return to active wrestling, be it WWE or anywhere else. Also, even though WWE is moving to Netflix and may be able to get away with more than regular television, the Godfather character is still too controversial for today’s audience.
What are your thoughts on Bandido immediately suffering a concussion on his return to ROH?
He was out due to an injury, came back after a long absence, and in the first appearance, banged his head doing a dropkick and suffered a concussion. Some days, it just doesn’t pay to get out of bed. I feel for the dude. That’s a tough break. Our best wishes to Bandido for a speedy recovery.
If you were in a bar with 50 people ready to beat your butt, what four wrestlers, from any era, would you want with you to fight your way out and escape?
Meng, Harley Race, Brock Lesnar, and Jacob Fatu.
Santa Claus versus The Grinch. Who wins?
Easy match. Santa would take a beating at first, but the Grinch would have a change of heart as his heart grew three sizes that day. He’d hesitate for a moment, and Santa would make a comeback for the win.
If you took 1980 to 1989, what letter grade (A, B, C, D, F) would you give The Big Bossman?
Bossman didn’t start wrestling until 1985 and started as a jobber for WCW. Then he became Big Bubba Rogers and was the bodyguard for Jim Cornette and the Midnight Express. He didn’t go to the WWF and became the Big Bossman until 1988, but he continued in that role with WWF until 1993. So for 1980-89, Bossman was mostly paying his dues and working his way up the ladder, building his reputation. I’ll give him a B for this period of time.
There are rumors about the NXT World’s Collide PLE being a joint partnership between TNA and NXT. Thoughts?
If possible, that would be a good idea for both NXT and TNA and would bring the partnership to a respectful climax. I’d like to see it happen.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. And I guess that’s all for today. Merry Christman, Peeps. I’ll see you at the matches.
