I’m Doug. Merry Christmas to everyone. And if you don’t celebrate Christmas, I still hope you have a great day and much happiness. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Yeah, wrestling never stops and neither do I, holiday or not. Let’s roll.
What wrestler do you think of when you think of Christmas?
This one is easy. Mick Foley and his love for Santa and Christmas is legendary. Truly, he is Christmas’s biggest fan.
What wrestler do you think of when you think of Santa Claus?
Tony Khan. He may be a lousy booker and wrestling promoter, but he’s given hundreds of wrestlers jobs making good money and from all I’ve ever heard, he’s a truly nice guy. He is pro wrestling’s personal Santa Claus for so many people.
What wrestler do you think of when you think of the Grinch?
I want to say Vince McMahon, but I don’t think he was being hateful or spiteful. I think he was just focused on business and the WWE before anything and everything. So, I’ll go with Drew McIntyre. His on-camera heel persona is so good right now, I can easily see him giving Santa and Cindy Lou Who a pair of Claymores for Christmas and then standing over them, laughing.
What wrestler do you think of when you think of Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer?
Ric Flair was the first name that popped into my head. Did you see him on Busted Open Radio this week? He looks bad. Alcohol has truly taken its toll on the Nature Boy.
What wrestler do you think of when you think of an elf? I think of Marko Stunt.
How can I beat that answer? Marko fits that role so easily. Maybe Hornswoggle too, but Marko is the perfect wrestling elf.
What are your expectations for WWE Raw’s Netflix debut? Do you think it will live up to the WrestleMania comparisons?
I think the show is loaded with some great matches and WWE will go all out to make sure it’s one of the best shows in recent history. I don’t know about comparing it with WrestleMania since there is a lot of difference between booking a three-hour show and the biggest PLE of the year. But I’m sure it will be memorable and be a must-see television event.
What do you think about Bronson Reed’s championship aspirations? Do you see him holding a World Title in 2025?
Considering that he’s out now with a broken foot and most likely won’t be back until the summer or fall of next year, I doubt he’ll become WWE or the World Champion in 2025. He’ll have to rebuild his momentum and maybe get some revenge on Roman Reigns and CM Punk first for the injury. I can easily see a major championship in Reed’s future, but things being as they are, I don’t think it will be that soon.
Who do you think should dethrone Cody Rhodes? Should he have a lengthy reign, or is it time for a new champion to rise?
Cody has had an excellent run so far, but it’s getting a little stale, and a title change, be it long-term or just some hot shotting of the belt for a few weeks, would be a nice game changer. As for who, I’m not sure of Randy Orton’s medical status, but Randy, Kevin Owens, or Drew McIntyre are the most logical choices right now.
What two current WWE women would you like to see compete in a Santa’s Little Helper Match? And who would win?
If you recall, Santa’s Little Helper Matches were where the WWE Divas dressed up in skimpy outfits and wrestled a bad match for the entertainment of Vince McMahon and guys in the audience who have never had a girlfriend. It’s been gone for a while and good riddance. But who today on the WWE roster could have this match, make it entertaining, and worth watching? Let’s go with Rhea Ripley and Asuka. They have established their characters enough that this match wouldn’t be so much demeaning as it would be just having fun. And Rhea would win.
If Triple H & Stephanie McMahon could come back for one last match for WWE, who would you like to see them wrestle?
A mixed tag-team match for one last moment before the fans. That would work for me and protect Triple H while giving him and Steph a chance to do their thing for one last time. The opponents? Three pairings immediately came to mind, but all three involve wrestlers not part of WWE at the moment. Seth Rollins & Becky Lynch. CM Punk & AJ Lee. And finally, Chelsea Green & Matt Cardona, the latter being my favorite.
And it’d be so simple to book. Chelsea is backstage being annoying, as her character often is, and gets on Triple H’s nerves. Triple H yells at her and puts her in a match. Matt Cardona appears the next week and even though he doesn’t work for WWE, he will not tolerate Hunter disrespecting his wife. Triple H doesn’t respond, but Stephanie McMahon does and cuts a promo on Matt & Chelsea, slapping Matt. Chelsea attacks Steph. Triple H and WWE officials break it up. And a match is made. Think about it. We all would watch and it makes sense. Hey WWE, feel free to use this idea. It’s big money waiting to happen.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And I guess that’s it for now. I hope everyone is having a very Merry Christmas. I’ll see you at the matches.
Ubuntu!
