I’m Doug and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s roll.

Do you believe the whole situation with The Lucha Brothers could have been handled better?

From what I understand, The Lucha Brothers realized that their careers in AEW had stalled and planned to leave when their contracts expired. Tony offered more money, but they turned it down. Then decided to get petty, adding time to their contracts to delay their departure, but still weren’t using them regularly. Yeah, it was handled badly. What could have been resolved quietly has blown up into a P.R. disaster. And Tony has only himself to blame.

Jeff Hardy recently stated that he would like his last match in WWE to be against CM Punk. Thoughts?

Jeff Hardy against CM Punk will always be a good match, but I think Jeff is getting ahead of himself now. Under contract to TNA, he’s talking about retiring by taking out CM Punk, a top guy in WWE. I’m sure that is news to WWE, TNA, and Punk. But who knows what the future holds? Maybe we’ll see Jeff and Punk wrestle again. Who knows?

Freddie Blassie (in his prime) versus Damian Priest. Who wins?

Long before he was a manager, Freddie Blassie was a wrestling icon in California and Japan, known for brutal brawls and literally filing his teeth to better bite the heads of his opponents and draw blood. Priest is damn good and has a great future ahead of him, but I don’t think he would do well against Blassie. Truthfully, I don’t think many in today’s business would do well against Blassie in his prime. They’d all just be pencil-necked geeks to him and he’d run crazy over everyone. Blassie would win.

AEW is bringing Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson, aka The Rock & Roll Express, in for shows in Charlotte, NC, and Knoxville, TN. Good idea or not?

Ricky and Robert are still very popular with fans in North Carolina and Tennessee so this is a great move to sell tickets. More companies should use the stars of the past in such a manner. And Ricky and Robert can still go in that ring, so maybe we’ll get The Rock & Roll Express versus FTR or maybe the Young Bucks as a bonus. One can only hope.

Triple Threat Match: Papa Shango, Kama Mustafa, and The Godfather versus Cactus Jack, Mankind, and Dude Love versus Dizzy Hogan, Brutus Beefcake, and The Booty Man. Who wins?

A triple-threat match made of three teams consisting of three wrestlers with three of their characters/identities. I get it. Cool! The Ed Leslie team would just be there to do the job, something Ed Leslie is very familiar with. The Mick Foley team would win and the Charles Wright team would bring some ‘Hos for the post-match celebration.

Do you think Jordynne Grace should make the jump to WWE or explore other opportunities in wrestling?

Grace’s contract with TNA expires in January. She should immediately go to the WWE. WWE is the biggest and best wrestling promotion in the world and if the opportunity comes, one does not say no to go work Indys for a year first. That would just be insane.

Alan Angels versus Ricochet. Who wins?

Ricochet is very impressive in the ring, but have you seen Alan in TNA? The dude is so underrated, it’s crazy. AEW dropped the ball with Alan Angels, but he’s getting better every week and is a main eventer ready to explode. Alan Angels would find a way and get the win.

How would you write Charlotte Flair’s return to WWE television?

It’s Charlotte Flair so all she really needs to do is just show up and she’s immediately in the top mix. Since Charlotte’s injury was against Asuka, who is currently out with an injury of her own, Charlotte can cut a promo that she’s waiting for Asuka so she can put her out… permanently. But until Asuka has the guts to face her, Charlotte will take out her friends. Then Charlotte can feud with Kairi Sane and DAMAGE CTRL until Asuka is ready to return.

Should Tony Chimel be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame?

Chimel has been with WWE for decades, does a great job as a ring announcer, and is seemingly well-liked by everyone in WWE. I would support his induction into the HOF. He’s certainly more deserving than James Dudley or Torrie Wilson.

Triple H asks you to come up with a huge angle to close up the first edition of RAW on Netflix, one that will have people talking for months. What would you suggest?

I think I’d play on an idea by Heath Slater a few weeks ago. John Cena closes out the RAW show with a squash match and a promo. Cena talks to the fans and gets distracted by Announcer Wade Barrett. Barret tells John that he has some bad news for him. From the crowd comes Heath Slater & Darren Young. Michael Tarver, Justin Gabriel, and David Otunga come from the other side of the ring. Curtis Axel & Mason Ryan show up and join the attack. It’s the return of The Nexus as they beat down Cena and any other wrestlers who try and make the save. They destroy the ringside area, much like that incident that got Bryan Danielson temporarily fired, and the last shot as RAW leaves the air is The Nexus standing over Cena’s bruised and battered body.

And there you go. Thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated at Doug28352@yahoo.com. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, I’m out of here. Take care and I’ll see you at the matches.
