I’m Doug. This is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s kick it!

Describe ‘Durag Vince’ in one word.

Cringy.

What’s the first word that comes to mind when you see Ric Flair?

As much as I hate to say this, “Drunk!”

JBL thinks that WWE dropped the ball with Marc Mero back in the day. Is JBL right?

Mero was a legitimate athlete with lots of charisma and ability, but all Vince saw and wanted was Mero’s then-wife, Rena, better known as Sable. Once Vince got her, Mero was never more than an afterthought. JBL is 100% correct.

What are your thoughts on The Repo Man?

Barry Darsow, the man behind the character, was a fantastic wrestler who had a great career as Krusher Kruschev in the NWA and as one-half of Demolition. But Repo Man? Well, the character was memorable and Darsow made it work far better than it had any right to, but to be honest, my initial reaction was, “What the hell?”. And it never got much better after that.

What heel turn shocked you the most?

Hulk Hogan joined the nWo and became Hollywood Hogan. I was not a Hogan fan at all and despised him as a babyface in WCW, but that turn was so out of nowhere, that it caught me off guard. It was a great move for Hogan and I strongly preferred Hollywood over Hulk Hogan. But it was a shocker to be sure.

Whatever happened to “Jimmy Jack Funk” Jesse Barr?

After wrestling in WWF as Jimmy Jack Funk, Barr traveled to Memphis and World Class Championship Wrestling before heading back to Portland, Barr retired in 1997 and with the exception of two returns, one in NWA Carolinas for a one-night-only appearance in 2010 and his last match in 2016, Barr has completely left the wrestling business. At last notice, Barr was working for a construction company in Portland.

With AEW running the Hammerstein Ballroom, do you think WWE will swoop in and try and steal the venue for NXT?

How could WWE be stealing it? They were there first for the ECW One Night Stand events. But I can see WWE booking some NXT events there. It’s a good venue and the right size for some NXT events. I can see that happening.

What WWE venue has the best live atmosphere?

Right now, I’d say any show in Chicago, New York, or another country can almost always be guaranteed to have a live and rowdy audience.

Rate The Wyatt Sicks’ first six months of their run 1-10.

They had a great start, but thus far, it’s been underwhelming. The WWE roster is so stacked right now, that it’s hard to find time and give any new act proper momentum. The Wyatts still get a great reaction from the live audience, but the push has been lacking. I’d give it a 7.

What are your thoughts on a potential John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes clash at WWE WrestleMania?

I don’t want to see Cena versus Cody. If it happens, then it happens. And I’m sure it’d be a great match. But I’d rather see Cena fight someone he has a history with, while Cody defends his title against someone else. WWE can have two great matches that way instead of tying Cena and Cody both up in one match.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap things up. Be good, my friends, and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
