I’m Doug and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s roll.
Was it a mistake by WWE not to do a Stone Cold vs Hulk Hogan match?
In hindsight, it probably was, but look at the two parties involved. I just can’t see Austin or Hogan being able to agree on a finish and the match wouldn’t have been good as a result. Someone body would have gotten upset. Too much ego involved on both parts.
What do you think about Tessa Blanchard’s return? Does she deserve a second chance?
Everyone deserves a second chance, and when you look at the top stars, no one is perfect. Ric Flair – a con man and alcoholic. Steve Austin – domestic violence. Scott Hall – killed a man. Hulk Hogan – Racist. Jerry Lawler – Statutory Rape. HBK & Marty Jannetty – Roofied Female Fans. Were Tessa’s infractions worse than any of these? They all got repeated opportunities for redemption, so why shouldn’t she?
Umaga versus Jacob Fatu in a Samoan Street Fight. Who wins?
This match would give a new definition to the word, “Banger!”. It would be brutal, bloody, and awesome. And Umaga would win.
Do you think Ricochet has what it takes to silence his doubters and win the Continental Classic?
The ability to silence his doubters? Absolutely. He just needs to work on the promos and social media replies. Win the Continental Classic? He lost to Okada in the finals at Worlds End so I guess that’s a no.
Whatever happened to Horace Hogan?
After WCW closed, Hogan worked briefly on the Indy circuit before signing a WWE Developmental Deal in 2001 and going to OVW. That didn’t last long. Hogan was released from OVW in September 2002. Not long afterward, Hogan retired from professional wrestling and went to work in the construction industry.
What do you think about Max Caster’s raps and AEW’s decision to edit them?
I like Caster’s raps, and they are the gimmick that sets him apart from everyone else, but AEW has a network to answer to, plus a public image to maintain. Sometimes, a little editing is necessary.
Who would you say is more of a creative genius: Vince McMahon or Paul Heyman?
Both men qualify in their way. No one can dispute that. But Vince grew stale and stagnant after a while, closing his mind to certain ideas. Heyman has continued to evolve and grow as a creator and booker. I’ll go with Heyman on this one.
Konnan versus Curtis Axel. Who wins?
With both men in their prime, this would be a good match. Medical issues have made Konnan a shell of what he once was, but in his day, the dude could move. Axel is a tremendous wrestler, extremely underrated, and can match up well with anyone. I’d give this one to K-Dogg for the victory.
Would you like to see AEW do a Women’s AEW Continental Classic Tournament?
The Men’s tournament was bad enough. I don’t think AEW has enough strong women for a tournament of this type. No, I don’t want to see them do this tournament.
Nicholas Cone was 10 years old when he “won” the WWE Tag Team Championship with Braun Strowman in 2018. Do you think he’ll pull a Dominik Mysterio and return when he’s an adult to a career in pro wrestling?
Only Nicholas and his father, referee Jack Cone, know what the future holds for the former one-half of the tag team champions, but it would be cool to see Nicholas follow in Dominik’s footsteps. I’d like to see it.
And there you go. Thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, I’m out of here. I’ll catch you at the matches.
