It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug and this is how we do it in 2025. Are you ready? Let’s roll.
What are your favorite three wrestling cities?
I would say Atlanta, GA, and New York City for their history. And the third? Laurinburg, NC, where I currently live. We have two live Indy events coming in February, on the 1st and the 15th, and I plan on being at both of them and covering them for the site.
Verne Gagne versus Kurt Angle. Who wins?
Both men were amateur legends and amazing talents, so this one would be tough to call. In his day, Verne was a wrestling machine. As for Kurt, he won a gold medal with a broken freakin’ neck. I’ll give it to Kurt, but just barely.
Hulk Hogan versus The Ultimate Warrior. Were you Team Hogan or Team Warrior?
I’ve never been a strong Hogan fan, but Warrior? If there was one person I disliked more than Hulk, he would be the one. For this rivalry, Team Hogan.
What is the dumbest finisher ever?
The Worm? The People’s Elbow? Santino’s Cobra? They’re all pretty stupid, but we all know they’re not to be taken seriously. But Naomi’s “Rear View” where she hits someone in the face with her ass? Unless she has a wiping problem, that’s a total B.S. move. I’ll go with that one.
Ric Flair & Greg Valentine versus Dos Caras & Mil Mascaras. Who wins?
Dos Caras was good, but his brother, Mil Mascaras, was a delicate little Diva with a huge ego. Flair and Valentine were arguably the best tag team in wrestling in the late ’70s and few could match their aggression and teamwork. Flair and Valentine would dominate and win.
Why hasn’t AEW looked into hiring Low Ki?
Low Ki is 45 years old and has a reputation for being hard to deal with. AEW probably just doesn’t want the aggravation., Lord knows they have enough headaches already. They don’t need any more.
With all of the female talent they have and are going to sign, do you think WWE could eventually have an all women’s brand like Raw Smackdown and NXT?
Nope. WWE works well by having the most talented performers of both genders as part of their teams. One show being only women would turn off half the audience and would also be obviously sexist. WWE doesn’t have a show that only men, only Latinos, only Samoans, etc. The current shows are for everyone, as they should be.
Are you glad Rampage is canceled?
I’m not glad, no. It takes away an opportunity for the AEW talent to perform in front of a live crowd and get better. I rarely watched unless there was a match I wanted to see advertised, but the show had its fans and I hate to see any wrestlers lose an opportunity to perform in front of fans or on television.
Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, Bianca Belair & Iyo Sky versus Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Sasha Banks, and Becky Lynch. Who wins?
The Four Horsewomen against the four top women of today’s WWE. And all eight of these women can actually wrestle a good match and make it interesting and fun. Add Tiffany Stratton and Asuka and this would be a great traditional Survivor Series match or hell, even War Games. This one is a very tough call. I’d give it to Rhea, Liv, Bianca, and Iyo for the win.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And I’ll catch you on the flip side. I’ll see you at the matches.
