I’m Doug and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s roll.

Do we think 2025 will FINALLY be the year Theory turns babyface?

Theory is getting cheers from the crowds already and is teasing tension with Grayson Waller. Yeah, it’ll probably happen sometime this year.

Jeff Jarrett announced that he has signed again with AEW, that this will be his last wrestling contract, and that he wants to be AEW Champion. Thoughts?

He’s the man with all the stroke and is taking advantage. Jarrett is still in tremendous shape and can go in that ring better than most. I’m happy for him and I hope he does get a short run with the AEW Championship. Now, choke on that, slapnuts!

If Christian could change his name to “Christian Cage”, why couldn’t Edge change it to “The Edge”?

Christian Cage created his name and used it before coming to WWE and on the Indy circuit. He owns that name. Adam Copeland’s name of Edge was created by WWE and they own the rights to that name. Going as “The Edge” would violate all sorts of copyright laws and open Copeland up to a lawsuit. Simply put, Christian created the “Christian Cage” name. WWE created the “Edge” name. And they’ve kept the copyrights up to date and valid.

Do you think Ric Flair should have one more match, or is it time for him to retire?

I saw where Flair thinks he can do one more match. That last match nearly killed him and he looked terrible. Flair may think he can do it, but common sense says differently. It’s just Flair being Flair, nothing more.

Ric Flair was scheduled for an AEW Collision in Charlotte, but it didn’t happen. Why do you think AEW changed their minds?

AEW probably wasn’t sure which Ric Flair would be showing up, the professional or the drunk, and given the past few years and Flair’s antics, didn’t want to take the chance. Also, if Flair was there, he’d try to make it all about Ric Flair, as he always does. It’s an AEW event and should be all about AEW. My guess is AEW probably didn’t want the headaches.

What are your thoughts and memories on Mean Gene Okerlund, who passed away six years ago this week?

He annoyed me at the time, but since then, I’ve realized just how important having a strong interviewer and pitch-man truly is. And Mean Gene was one of the best. That’s what wrestling is missing these days and needs again another Mean Gene, or someone similar. Mean Gene was one of a kind and truly an iconic figure in professional wrestling.

Should there be a mandatory retirement age in professional wrestling?

Nope. Most wrestlers listen to their bodies and know when it’s time to stop. For some, it’s 40, and for others, it might be age 60. Every wrestler is different and their situation is different. A blanket retirement age would hurt more people than it would help. If common sense is used, mandatory rules are not necessary.

Are the Acclaimed headed towards a breakup or is this a swerve much like DIY & The New Day did?

I don’t think AEW is capable of thinking ahead that much and pulling off a good swerve. We’ll be seeing Caster versus Bowens in that AEW ring sooner rather than later.

What do you think about WWE’s decision to hold off on live events until March?

The wrestlers will still be working three live tapings a week with RAW, Smackdown, and NXT, plus Saturday Night’s Main Event and the PLEs. It’s just giving the talent a short break from house shows before The Road to WrestleMania begins. March is a European tour and I believe I saw something about a South American tour coming up too. It’s just giving the talent a break before the busy season kicks in. Nothing wrong with that.

Do you think we will see JEY USO As the WWE Champion one day?

If Jey’s popularity remains at the level it currently is, I think a WWE or World Championship title reign is most likely in his near future. YEET!

And there you go. Thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. I’ll catch you later and see you at the matches.
