Tuesday night, live from Los Angeles on the CW, is NXT New Year’s Evil. The Rock announced on his Instagram that he will be appearing at the show, plus five great matches are scheduled. And you know what that means. It’s prediction time. Let’s do this.
Triple Threat Match – NXT Championship
Trick Williams (c) vs. Oba Femi vs. Eddy Thorpe.
I think we’re going to see a new champion, but will it be the dominance of Oba Femi that comes out on top, or the sneakiness of Eddy Thorpe? For some reason, I think we’ll be seeing Femi on the main roster sooner rather than later. And that leaves Thorpe finding a way to steal a win and get the title. Works for me.
Winner and NEW NXT Champion: Eddy Thorpe.
NXT Women’s Championship
Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Giulia.
All signs point to Giulia getting a win and becoming the new champion. It’s just too easy and obvious. I think Roxanne will find a way, probably through some outside interference, and steal a win.
Winner and STILL NXT Women’s Champion: Roxanne Perez.
Fatal four-way match to determine the #1 contender for the NXT Women’s North American Championship
Cora Jade vs. Kelani Jordan vs. Lola Vice vs. Stephanie Vaquer.
When the women of NXT have a multi-person match, it’s always guaranteed to be a fun time for everyone. These four women can go and I’m sure this match will be the bomb as well. Vaquer is the obvious choice to win, but my gut notes that Cora Jade has been very visible as of late as well. I think Cora Jade will win.
Winner: Cora Jade.
Sudden Death Rules for the NXT Heritage Cup
Lexis King (c) vs. Charlie Dempsey.
The big question here is William Regal and will he get involved? And if he does, will he aid his son or the son of the late Brian Pillman? It was nice to see Lexis King holding gold and I think it’s time for Dempsey to move on to other ventures, such as the North American Championship or even the main roster. I think we’ll see Lexis King give in to temptation, take a shortcut with some aid from William Regal, and get the win.
Winner and NEW NXT Heritage Cup Champion: Lexis King.
Gigi Dolin, Shotzi, and Tatum Paxley vs. Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne, and Jazmyn Nyx).
Another chance for the women of NXT to prove that NXT has arguably the best women’s roster in wrestling today with some six-woman action. Another great match that should tear down the house. I’ll go with Fatal Influence for the victory.
Winners: Fatal Influence (Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne, and Jazmyn Nyx).
And there you go. Will you be watching the CW for the NXT special edition? Of course, you will. What else do you have to do? What are your thoughts and predictions for the event? Share them, along with any other comments or questions at Doug28352@yahoo.com. And with that, I’m out of here. I have some questions to answer. Have a good one, and I’ll see you at the matches.
