I’m Doug and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Are you ready to get jiggy with it? Let’s roll.
Assume that a young Kevin Nash and Scott Hall came into WWE today as Diesel and Razor Ramon. It’s the same gimmicks but in the current age of wrestling. I would assume that instead of almost immediate main-event caliber guys, they’d be looked at as goofy gimmicks now and not get off the ground. What say you?
Kevin Nash, aka Diesel, wasn’t too outrageous or character-based and probably wouldn’t have had many issues. Diesel is no different than Sheamus or The Rock, for example. He was just a tough wrestler with a funny name. As for Razor Ramon, the gimmick is so strong, that it would hurt as much as it would help. I can see Diesel getting a strong push from the start. Razor would take longer since he’d get the LA Knight treatment and have to earn his way to the top kind of.
What are your thoughts on WWE announcing a multi-year partnership with Hulk Hogan’s Real American Beer?
Given the reaction of the fans in Los Angeles at RAW when Hulk Hogan made his appearance, I’m wondering how good an idea this truly is. The beer might be good, but Hogan is not popular at all. This is something worth keeping an eye on.
Who do you want to see Becky Lynch work with upon her return?
If the rumors are true, we might see The Man versus Rhea leading up to WrestleMania. I think Becky will go after Liv & Raquel first to get some revenge. Maybe the winner of the Women’s IC title tournament will be a target as well. I think Becky is coming back for gold.
Who wins a fight between Clubber Lang & Apollo Creed?
Clubber, from the movie Rocky III, was played by WWE Hall of Famer Mr. T, while Apollo Creed was actor Carl Weathers. On the movie screen, this would be a good fight. In reality, Mr. T has a legitimate fighting background. Weathers is an actor playing a role. Mr. T would win.
Was I seeing things or was Michael Cole standing on the Commentator’s table with Pat McAfee doing the YEET for Jey Uso? What the hell? Thoughts?
It’s good to see Cole acting up and cutting the fool. This is something that never would have happened in the Vince McMahon era. Pat McAfee seems to bring out the kid and playful side of Cole. It adds to the program and the product. Good for Cole.
Was Rhea Ripley winning the WWE Women’s World Championship the right call?
I think the original plans were to hold off until WrestleMania, but things changed and WWE decided to do the title switch on RAW instead. I get it, but I’m hoping that this isn’t the end of the Rhea versus Liv rivalry. I’d love to see a blow-off match with a stipulation at Mania between the two. They have great chemistry and work so well together. I get why they did the title switch, but I would have preferred if they had waited.
Drew McIntyre versus Scott Hall. Who wins?
These guys are similar in size, and strength, and both are great talents inside the ring. It could easily go either way. As to who wins, one more for the bad guy. I think Hall would win.
If you could create a new faction for Dom Mysterio to lead, who would be in it?
How about Dom focusing on his legacy as a multi-generational wrestler who no one wants to take seriously and tends to underestimate? As for some followers for Dirty Dom, how about a few other multi-generational wrestlers who had the same problem during their careers? Shawn Stasiak, Garrett Bischoff, Tim Zbyszko, and Nick Hogan. Dom and the new Brat Pack. It would be awesome.
Gunther versus Vader. Who wins?
Gunther versus Vader in his prime would be a tremendous match. Gunther is the Ring General, but in the end, it would be time. Vader time!
Is The Rock vs. Cody Rhodes story over?
It ain’t over till it’s over. I think this story and rivalry still have legs and a ways to go.
And there you go. Thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Drop me a line at Doug28352@yahoo.com. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
