Welcome to the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug. Let’s roll.
What are your thoughts on Ultimate Warrior?
The Warrior was a character of the right place, right time, more than anything else. He was muscled up and stood out from the crowd, and the fans were eager for an alternate to Hulkamania. As a talent, he was vastly overrated, but that didn’t matter. He knew his schtick, and the audience was receptive. That’s really all that mattered.
The Miz believes Logan Paul can be the new face of WWE. Is Miz right?
There is something about Logan Paul that is hard to ignore. He has that “it” quality about him. I think they call it “Aura” these days. He’s a good wrestler, a great shit-talker, and he has that face you just want to punch. I can see what Miz is talking about. He’s right.
Would you like to see Ric Flair return at the Royal Rumble?
I don’t want to see Ric anywhere but at home with his grandkids, living a quiet life away from the booze, the shameless endorsements, and pretending to be someone he hasn’t been in twenty years. Every time Ric gets near a microphone or camera, goes on social media, or goes out in public, he embarrasses himself or others. Ric is a walking, toxic time bomb, ready to cause headaches and problems. WWE should stay as far away from the Nature Boy as possible.
Thoughts on the SEC case against Vince McMahon being closed?
Vince only ended up paying out about 1.7 million dollars, a slap on the wrist for a billionaire. No surprises there to be honest. And now, it’s making the Janel Grant problems go away and Vince should be home free and set. I’m sure a few million dollars will take care of that eventually as well.
According to Meltzer, the planned WWE WrestleMania 41 match of The Rock vs Cody Rhodes has been scrapped. Thoughts?
So, instead of The Rock challenging Cody, we’ll get John Cena, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, or CM Punk instead. Works for me.
Other than Omega, who do you think should be THE guy in AEW? With Swerve, Hangman, Mox, Ospreay, and MJF, all appearing as top-tier talent, who should get that extra elevation?
Swerve seems to have lost his swagger as of late after the loss to Hangman Page a few months ago. MJF isn’t doing much better, and people reach for the clicker to change the channel when Moxley shows up. Ospreay is the most logical choice listed, but his momentum seems to be sputtering out as well. Of the current AEW roster, the big push should probably be Shelton Benjamin or Bobby Lashley, The Hurt Syndicate.
Seth Rollins versus Kerry Von Erich. Who wins?
Seth would control most of the match and make Kerry look better than ever, but Kerry would be the one to get the win. Wrestling politics and all that.
Who’d be your AEW v WWE pairings in a Forbidden Door/Survivor Series PPV? Choose a 5v5, 3 men’s singles, 3 women’s singles, and a tag.
So eight matches between AEW and WWE? For the 5 versus 5 match, it would be the two biggest factions of each company with a reunited Bloodline, Roman Reigns, The Usos, Sami Zayn, and Solo Sikoa w/ Paul Heyman versus The Elite, The Young Bucks, Adam Page, Kenny Omega, and Kazuchika Okada. For the three men’s singles matches, CM Punk versus Jack Perry, Brock Lesnar versus Bobby Lashley, and Seth Rollins versus Will Ospreay. For the three women’s singles matches, Rhea Ripley versus Mercedes Mone, Toni Storm versus Liv Morgan, and Mariah May versus Bianca Belair. And finally, the tag match would be FTR versus Austin Theory & Grayson Waller.
Who do you think Goldberg should face in his final match? Should WWE stick with Gunther or go in a completely different direction?
If it’s not Gunther, then the most obvious choice is Bron Breakker. Or if they want to go outside the box, Seth Rollins. Rollins is easily the Ric Flair of this generation and can have a great match with anyone. He could make Goldberg look like the Goldberg of old and carry him to a great match.
Would you love to see Chelsea Green take the stage on Dancing With the Stars?
Of all of the talents in WWE, Chelsea would be the perfect WWE Superstar for this. She’s obviously in great shape and athletic. I expect she’d do very well in learning and performing the dances for the show. Plus, she’s a tremendous personality who can talk and would get over very well with the DWTS audience. If Chelsea Green was on DWTS, I’d gladly watch every episode. And I hate that damn show.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, I’m out of here. Take care, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
