On Sunday, January 19th, TNA Genesis will take place at the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas. It will be streaming live on TNA+ and PPV. And we all know what that means, right? I’m Doug and it’s prediction time. Let’s roll.

TNA Champion Nic Nemeth vs. Joe Hendry.

You’ve got Frankie Kazarian with the Call Your Shot trophy, Ryan Nemeth, and possibly JBL lurking around. There is no chance in hell this match will be one-on-one and have a clean finish. It’s a tough call to choose though because Nemeth just signed a contract extension, but Hendry is the favorite of everyone and lost their last encounter. Too many losses can hurt the stock. I’ll say Ryan and JBL get involved, but it backfires. Hendry takes advantage and gets the win. Yes, I believe in Joe Hendry.

Winner and NEW TNA Champion: Joe Hendry.

TNA X-Division Champion Moose vs. Ace Austin.

Moose is a legit tough guy, but Ace Austin has dedicated this match to his injured partner, Chris Bey. So toughness versus motivation. I’ll go with the tough guy on this one.

Winner and STILL X-Division Champion: Moose.

TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich vs. Rosemary – Clockwork Orange House of Fun.

Masha hasn’t been the champion for long, plus she just did a cameo on the NXT show. This match is right up Rosemary’s alley, but while it should be a match, it won’t be her night. Masha has a dumb name, but she’s a good champion. Look for Masha to retain.

Winner and STILL TNA Knockouts Champion: Masha Slamovich.

TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardys vs. The Rascalz.

Two excellent teams and this should be a truly good match. The Hardys have been at the top of their game since winning the titles, but the Rascalz need a big win soon or risk losing their credibility. With the new TNA/WWE deal in place, I think it factors in with this match. If Matt & Jeff do some WWE/NXT stuff, wouldn’t it be better if they’re wearing gold? Look for Jeff & Matt to retain.

Winners and STILL TNA Tag Team Champions: Matt & Jeff, The Hardys.

Mike Santana vs. Josh Alexander – I Quit Match.

This should be a really good fight. I’m getting thoughts of Tully and Magnum when I look at this encounter. Alexander, from all the rumors, will be leaving TNA next month when his deal is up. Santana is the future and I see major gold in his future. Look for The Northern Armory to get involved to allow Alexander to save some face, but the outcome is clear. Mike Santana wins.

Winner: Mike Santana.

Tessa Blanchard vs. Jordynne Grace.

Tessa is back and after a long absence from TNA, she needs a big win to reestablish herself. Grace is an amazing talent, but by all reports, her contract is up and this is her last TNA PPV appearance. It should be an awesome match, but the finish is in little doubt. Tessa wins.

Winner: Tessa Blanchard.

TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions Spitfire vs. Heather and Ash by Elegance.

I honestly haven’t paid enough attention to this feud to pick a winner. But I remember Ash by Elegance from her WWE days as Dana Brooke. I liked her then. The gimmick is dumb, but she’s a good worker. Look for Heather and Ash to win.

Winners and NEW TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions: Heather & Ash by Elegance.

Steve Maclin and Eric Young vs. The System.

Eric Young & Steve Maclin are a very impressive team. The System is impressive too, but I like EY & Maclin better.

Winners: Eric Young & Steve Maclin.

Frankie Kazarian vs. Leon Slater.

The Countdown Show match to get the crowd going, this one should be pretty good. Kazarian can always be counted on for a good match, and has that Call Your Shot trophy in his possession to add to his mystique and resume. That being said, Slater is on the rise and getting better with every appearance. A loss won’t hurt Kazarian. I think Slater should take the win in this one.

Winner: Leon Slater.
