I’m Doug, and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Can we talk? Let’s roll.
Do you think Jey Uso has what it takes to become WWE’s next top champion?
I didn’t, not really, but after watching RAW on Monday night, seeing the real emotion that Jey was showing, plus watching the live reaction from the fans, I’m beginning to understand. Jey isn’t a smooth talker or even a great wrestler, but the passion is there and it’s real. I think he can do anything he sets his mind to doing. YEET!
Do you think Roxanne is ready for the big time on the WWE main roster?
Roxanne Perez lasted over an hour in the Rumble match, plus has had an excellent past year. She’s ready for the main roster and should fit in quite nicely.
Do you have any thoughts on YouTuber IShowSpeed being part of the Royal Rumble match?
It was what it was. The celebrity got a big moment, the fans got a big pop when Bron Breakker made the kid his toy, and WWE’s video of the YouTube kid allegedly had over 300 million views. Everyone seems happy.
If Steve Austin never got fired from WCW, would anything change?
It would have taken longer for WWE to achieve its dominance and become the mega-power it eventually became, but aside from that, I don’t see much difference. As Hogan and friends gained power in WCW, the home-grown stars like Steve Austin, would have been frozen out and left eventually for WWE anyhow. Stone Cold was inevitable. It just would have taken longer to get there.
What’s your appetite for a big Goldberg retirement match on a scale of 1 to 10?
Maybe a 2 or 3 at the most right now. I’ve never been a big Goldberg fan, and although I know as the eventual date approaches, I’ll pay more attention to this potential match, to be honest, if Goldberg announced today that he’s going to forego the match and retire now, I wouldn’t be upset at all.
If you asked 100 people on the street, would more people know Hulk Hogan or Vince McMahon?
Hulk Hogan by far.
Do you want to see Alexa Bliss with The Wyatts?
I wouldn’t mind seeing teases of Evil Alexa every so often, but nothing major. For the immediate future, I’d like to see her on her own and doing her own thing. And with the teases of Lily’s favorite wrestler, she can eventually be moved into a story with the Wyatts as needed. But for now, Alexa should be by herself.
Grover vs. Elmo. Who are you picking?
Elmo is so annoying, he’s the Miz of Sesame Street. I’d even pick Grover over him. With Captain Lou Oscar in his corner, Grover takes the win.
Most impressive pro wrestling accomplishment—the Flair’s world titles or the Flair’s divorces?
To be fair, this is only Charlotte’s third divorce, although her relationship history is quickly catching up with that of her father. But relationships are hard in professional wrestling and few are real and lasting. The multiple World Championships, Ric’s more than Charlotte’s, are far more impressive.
Should Jordynne Grace appear on RAW, Smackdown, or NXT?
Given that a rivalry with Bianca has already been teased at the Rumble, plus her history with Naomi, I think Smackdown seems the most logical option for Miss Grace, at least for now.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
