I’m Doug, and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s roll.
Ricky Starks is now in NXT. Thoughts?
Finally, after several years of wasting away in AEW limbo, Ricky Starks has finally been allowed to become a real star and explore his potential to the highest level. Congratulations to Starks. Free at last! I’m anxious to see what comes next.
Does Al Snow belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?
A huge part of both ECW and WWE, plus now the owner of OVW. I think his career and history speaks for itself. Yes, Al belongs in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Do you think Orange Cassidy will ever get the world title?
If it hasn’t happened yet, I think that ship has sailed. Orange Cassidy as the AEW World Champion? Tony Khan has moved on to other toys and shiny objects. It’s not going to happen.
Describe The Gunns in three words or less.
Charismatic, talented, and entertaining.
Thoughts & memories of Mad Dog Vachon?
I’ve only had the chance to see Vachon wrestle a couple of times, for the AWA and Georgia. And he was a big, little man, who wasn’t large or physically dominating but had that crazy, psycho vibe. From all I’ve ever heard, a good guy, but he had his quirks and ways. An AWA wrestling legend.
Josh Matthews, who was with the company since 2014, is gone from TNA. Christy Hemme is also gone. Thoughts?
From what I’ve read, it’s a restructuring of TNA behind the scenes. A new guy has taken over as the executive producer of TNA and is bringing in his own people to fill all the important spots. It’s just that simple and unfortunately, Matthews and Hemme were among those who were replaced.
Demolition is now listed on the WWE Alumni Page, after not being mentioned for years. Thoughts?
Not long after this news broke, it was revealed that Barry Darsow and Bill Eadie, aka Demolition, have also signed new Legend’s Deals with WWE as well. I guess time really does heal all wounds. I’d say this is a positive movement towards finally getting Demolition into the WWE Hall of Fame, as they belong.
Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig versus Bam Bam Bigelow. Who wins?
Bam Bam Bigelow is a tough man and wrestling icon, but he’s not perfect. Curt was. Hell, it was even part of his name. Hennig wins.
Rank the top wrestling promotions in the U.S. from best to worst – WWE, NXT, TNA, ROH, MLW, GCW, and AEW.
This is just my opinion of course, but from best to worst, I’d rank them as WWE, NXT, AEW, TNA, MLW, ROH, and then GCW.
With all of Dutch Mantell’s recent ailments, should James Romero be looking for a new podcast partner, just in case Dutch can’t return to the world of podcasting? If so, who?
What a question. Dutch and James make an excellent team and their podcasts are terrific. Here’s hoping that Dutch feels better and is able to keep doing this for many years to come. If James wants to start another podcast for the WSI family, a great possibility for a partner-in-crime, not to replace anyone, but just to add to the mix, would be Sweet Stan Lane? Heath Slater could be a good partner as well. I met the dude a few weeks ago and he’s hilarious.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up for now. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects and I’ll see you at the matches.
