Doug Maynard
I’m Doug, and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Are you ready to rock & rumble? Let’s roll.
Jackie Redmond or Cathy Kelley? Better interviewer.
Honestly, I can’t tell any major difference between the two of them. Neither is Mean Gene. I guess I’ll go with Jackie Redmond. At least with her, I recognized the name.
Finn Balor versus Vampiro. Who wins?
While Vampiro was awesome back in his day and is a wrestling legend in Mexico, I think Finn Balor and his Demon would win this one.
If Hulk Hogan had a podcast, would you listen?
Truthfully, I’m surprised that Hogan hasn’t gone this route yet and attempted a podcast. I guess he doesn’t want to have to remember his dialogue from week to week, being that his lies would be on record and he would probably get called out quite frequently. But if the Hulkster decided to do a podcast, I’d listen for a few episodes to get the feel of it and decide if it’s worth the time.
Carmella’s contract with WWE has expired, and she’s no longer with the company. Thoughts?
Carmella’s been dealing with several medical issues after giving birth and when she’ll be able to return to the WWE, if ever, is anyone’s guess. They can’t keep paying her when she can’t work, and since her problems are not related to wrestling, they’re not obligated to keep her under contract. I’m sure that if Carmella recovers and can get medically cleared to work, WWE will always have a place for her. But this release makes sense. It’s business and nothing more.
Terry Funk versus Jon Moxley. Who wins?
This would be chaotic, wild, and very bloody. Rules would be tossed out the window within the first minute. It would actually be a fun fight to see. And Terry Funk would win.
Do you think more people would buy WrestleMania tickets if The Rock is added to the card?
Rock or no Rock, WrestleMania will end up selling out. It’s WrestleMania and it sells tickets based on being WrestleMania, regardless of who is on the card, be it the Rock or Hornswoggle. Whether or not Rock is there, it won’t matter.
Whatever happened to Ruby Soho? Would you like to see Ruby Riott back in the WWE?
Ruby got married to Angelo Parker and they had a baby daughter in October 2024. So after a few years in AEW, being used sparingly, Ruby took some time off to be a Mommy. Yes, I’d like to see her back in WWE as Ruby Riott. The Riott Squad, with Ruby, Sarah Logan, and Liv Morgan, was one of my favorite factions of that era. And given their history, Ruby would make a good rival for Liv Morgan now.
Does anyone care about Ring of Honor?
I’m sure that someone does. I don’t know who, but a few dozen people watch it semi-regularly. And I know Chris Jericho does. After all, he’s their champion.
Naomi recently stated on a podcast that she’d like to work with her husband, Jimmy Uso, and be part of the Bloodline story. Would you like to see Naomi as part of the Bloodline?
I’ve always been surprised that Naomi, Nia Jax, and Tamina weren’t included in the Bloodline stories, given their very public relationships with the Bloodline members. Being part of The Bloodline could bring out a whole new side of Naomi and possibly make her interesting, something she hasn’t been for a while now. If Jimmy goes heel again and becomes part of the Bloodline faction, either under Roman or Solo Sikoa, let’s see an evil Naomi by his side. That could be cool.
I saw that TKO has bought the rights to Lucha Underground and may be bringing the brand back as part of WWE. Thoughts?
I saw that too, but it’s not true. Fake news. It’d be cool to see Lucha Underground and the old show as part of The Network, but it’s not happening. Sorry.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
