I’m Doug, and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Are you ready to rock & rumble? Let’s roll.

Do you think AEW would have been better off with Shane McMahon running things?

That’s a tough question because even though Shane is a McMahon and part of a wrestling family legacy, he’s never been known for being part of the Creative process and his brief time working as an agent was a disaster. I’m sure he has a lot of ideas, and I doubt he could be as bad as the current booker/owner of AEW, but it would all be trial and error and he doesn’t have a track record to fall back on. It’d probably just be more chaos and craziness but from a different direction.

In WWE, should a woman be in charge of booking the women’s division while Triple H books the men?

WWE has Molly Holly working as one of the agents so there is a female voice available, plus there are women working as part of the creative team. While a woman running the Division makes sense in a way, this is 2025 and that would be sexist to presume a person’s qualifications based only on their gender. Triple H is doing fine.

Primo & Epico Colon debuted in TNA. Thoughts?

Say their names and they appear. It’s good to see Carlito’s brother and cousin popping up in TNA, back in the big leagues again. TNA is perfect because they won’t be hampered by the bad gimmicks of the past and can actually wrestle as themselves, showing what they’re truly capable of. It was a surprise to hear their names, but I’m glad they’re back.

Elijah, aka Elias, also debuted in TNA. Thoughts?

And he’s walking with Joe Hendry. Another surprise, but it’s a good one. I think he’ll do well in TNA and is someone who deserves this opportunity to be a major player again. I’m happy for him.

What are your thoughts & memories of Johnny Weaver?

The Dean of Professional Wrestling. I remember Johnny mainly as the off-key cohost of the Jim Crockett shows in the early 80s, where he provided color commentary alongside Bob Caudle, TonySchiavone, and Rich Landrum. Weaver was a wrestling legend in the ’60s and ’70s, part of a historic tag team with George Becker, and the Master of the Sleeper Hold. Weaver would occasionally wrestle and even in his latter years, could still go in that ring. I had the chance to see him live many times and the man never failed to draw a great reaction from the crowd or have a good match. A true wrestling icon and legend.

Ric Flair and Arn Anderson are sitting this out. The Four Best Horsemen versus The Four Worst Horsemen in a War Games match. Who’s on which team and who wins?

The four best Horsemen would be Ole Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Barry Windham, and Chris Benoit. The four worst, that didn’t quite fit the mold, were Paul Roma, Dean Malenko, Curt Hennig, and Steve “Mongo” McMichael. Actually, Mongo as a person was a great Horseman, but he just sucked in the ring. And this match, War Games, which was made for the Horsemen, would be a fun match to see. Ole, Tully, Barry, and Benoit would win.

If not Jey Uso, who should have won the Royal Rumble in his place?

Jey Uso is growing on me and I’m interested in seeing where this goes. But if not Jey, I think I’d have gone with Logan Paul. Just imagine the reactions. It would definitely create a major buzz.

What are your thoughts on the 2024 Wrestling Observer awards?

Meltzer is a clown and narcissistic idiot and these so-called awards, they’re almost as bad. They’re a joke and little more.

Do you think that morale is down anywhere in the WWE?

WWE is a big company with a huge roster of people. There is always going to be someone complaining about their spot and position on the shows, but I don’t think you’ll find anyone who wants to go back to the way things were in the previous administration. Some people might not be thrilled all the time, but I think that for the most part, WWE is a positive place and most of the employees are at least understanding and content, if nothing else.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
