I’m Doug, and this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Are you ready to rock & rumble? Let’s roll.
Do you think referees deserve a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame? If so, who should be the first to get inducted?
Yes, referees are a very important part of every match and show, and thus, should be inducted. As for who, I’d say either Earl Hebner or Tommy Young.
Are you looking forward to seeing what Mike Bailey can do in AEW? Will he be a game-changer?
Mike Bailey is a talented and exciting wrestler in the ring, but he doesn’t have much of a character or personality outside of it. He’ll come in, get a big push for a few months, and then vanish, just like every other so-called game changer has. And no, he’s not it.
Is The Undertaker vs. Ric Flair at WM X8 the most underrated ‘Mania match of all time?
Of all time? That, I can’t say, but it was a good match and deserves far more credit than it usually tends to get.
If you were a pro wrestler, would you be a heel or a babyface?
With my sarcasm, dark sense of humor, and general disdain for people in general, I would be a heel manager, and a damn good one at that.
Who needs to be called up from NXT to the main roster?
The first names that come to mind for moving to the main roster in my eyes, aside from Rosanne Perez and Jordynne Grace, would be All Ego Adam Page and Ricky Saints.
Vince Russo plans to quit watching WWE and wrestling when he turns 65, next January. Will you miss him?
Who? I had forgotten about the other Vince. Will I miss him when he quits covering wrestling? Nah, I don’t think so.
You’re booked to do live shows with three wrestlers, not currently under contract to AEW, WWE, or TNA. It will be interviews and group discussions. Who are you touring with?
Picture it. A wrestling roundtable discussion, live all across the country, with me, Lisa “Ivory” Moretti, Matt Cardona, and Mr. James E. Cornette. Who wouldn’t want to come see that?
Kevin Nash: “Work rate doesn’t mean doing a bunch of moves. Work rate means telling a story.” Agree or disagree?
Of course, Nash would say that since he was never known for doing a bunch of moves. But he’s right. All of the moves in the world don’t mean a thing if they’re not happening for a reason and telling a story in that ring. I hate to agree with Kevin, but he’s spot on here.
Would you want to see The Boogeyman wrestle again, or should WWE leave this one in the past?
While I appreciate The Boogeyman for the occasional cameo or backstage segment, his in-ring days as a top star for WWE or any major promotion are long past. Narty Wright is sixty years old and while he admittingly is in great shape, he should not be a major player in the world’s largest wrestling promotion. As I said, the occasional cameo or appearance is cool, but anything more than that, nope.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
