I’m Doug, your resident Guiding Light and Party Host. And this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Do you have questions? I have the answers. Are you ready? Let’s roll.
Iyo Sky is the new WWE Women’s Champion, beating Rhea Ripley on RAW. Thoughts?
It was definitely a surprise and a shocker that no one saw coming. But truthfully, I like it. Rhea is a great champion, but she works better when she’s in pursuit of something than as the defending champion. Rhea had only been champion for two months and had already started to get stale and repetitive. This puts the fire back under Rhea and makes a WrestleMania moment, where she regains the title, a strong possibility. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out.
Do you think Jey Uso has what it takes to become WWE World Heavyweight Champion?
I like Jey, but I just don’t see him as the top guy. A strong mid-card wrestler, yes. But as the World Champion? I’m just not feeling it.
Sonya Deville says Vince McMahon rented her a house and hired 24/7 armed security for her when she was being stalked. Thoughts?
This proves that Vince isn’t all evil, and does have a heart somewhere. Vince is a messed up dude in many ways, but in many ways, could do the right thing. Stories like this are good to hear.
Do you think Trish Stratus should have another run in WWE? Would you like to see her challenge for a championship?
I’ll never say no to Trish being part of the WWE. She’s in great shape, looks great, and can still go. While I don’t want to see Trish fighting for the World or WWE Championship, having her around as a special attraction, to work with some of the younger talent, can never be considered a bad thing.
So, the company’s top babyface and champion, Cody Rhodes, sustains a bruised face and busted eardrum from a hard-way slap by a celebrity who had no business being in the ring and was more than likely under the influence at the time (Travis Scott). Thoughts?
If you watch the video, Scott didn’t seem to have a clue as to what he was supposed to be doing, from stretching Cody out so The Rock could use the weight belt, to that simply stupid slap/punch to the head. That guy messed up big time and legitimately injured the WWE Champion, with a black eye and possibly busted eardrum. Accidents happen, but that wasn’t an accident. Look at that clown. He was lost and trying to show off, most likely stoned out of his mind, and Cody was paying for it. Scott should never be allowed to interact with the wrestlers or WWE again. I get it that he’s allegedly a big star and whatnot, but he crossed the line, and there is no excuse for it.
When MJF’s AEW contract finally expires, will he jump ship to WWE or stay put?
At the rate that MJF’s current run in AEW is going, will WWE even still want him? I can assure you now that the financial rewards won’t be nearly as big in the future as if he had made the jump a year ago. MJF’s star is fading and so is the allure that drew the WWE’s attention. Hopefully, he’ll make the jump and learn to be a true star rather than an AEW flash-in-the-pan, but unless it happens soon, I can see that hole closing.
What is in Chad Gable’s box? Is Chad Gable gonna start wearing a mask?
I don’t think we’ll see Gable in a mask. If he does put on a mask, it won’t be but for one or two appearances. Gable has great facial expressions, and I’d hate to see him lose those. There may be a mask in the box, along with an address to the House of Black. And from there, the story continues.
It was just announced that the NWA Crockett Cup will be held in the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, PA. Also, Natalya will be appearing and wrestling on the show. Thoughts?
Natalya gets to wrestle at an NWA major event, and the NWA gets to have a major event in a prime location. This is not Vince McMahon’s WWE anymore. I’m happy for Natalya to get this opportunity to showcase her talents in front of a different prime audience, and as I said, this is great for Billy Corgan’s NWA. It just brings us one step closer to a possible WWE-NWA alliance. I think it’s really cool.
AJ Styles says he doesn’t have an opponent in mind for his final match, but emphasized in a recent interview that he wants to retire before he’s 50. He’s 48 now. Who do you think AJ’s final opponent should be?
AJ still seems to have a good run left in him and hopefully, before he calls it a day, he’ll get a few more pieces of gold around that waist. As for a possible final opponent, I’m just pulling someone off the top of my head that would make a great opponent for the phenomenal one. How about AJ Styles versus The Miz? Admit it. That would be AWESOME!
Eddie and Alisha Edwards have both signed new deals with TNA. Thoughts?
Eddie and Alisha both know that they have it good as part of The System in TNA and are a strong part of the TNA family. Good for them and here’s to continued success.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects, and I’ll see you at the matches.
