I’m Doug, your resident Guiding Light and Party Host. And this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Do you have questions? I have the answers. Are you ready? Let’s roll.

Is it safe to say Elimination Chamber was better than the Royal Rumble?

Both PLEs were well done, easy to watch, and strong examples of WWE storytelling mixed with physical combat. That being said, I’ll agree that in terms of being memorable, The Elimination Chamber was my favorite this year.

Do you think 2025 Jim Ross could call John Cena’s heel turn better than Michael Cole and the current WWE announce team?

No, I don’t. Jim Ross is a commentary legend, but the Jim Ross of 2025 is just a shadow of what he was capable of during his prime. Cole and McAfee did a fine job and were at the top of their game.

What is your Mt. Rushmore of Heel Turns in professional wrestling?

Hogan and the nWo, Cena turns on Cody, Ole Anderson turns on Dusty Rhodes in the cage, and Barry Windham turns on Lex Luger to join the Horsemen.

Do you think Stephanie Vaquer made the right call by choosing NXT over the main roster?

Vaquer definitely made the right call. She needs to learn the WWE style of television production and wrestling, plus improve her grasp of the English language for promos. NXT gives her the chance to do that before being tossed into the spotlight of the main WWE roster.

The War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) versus The Twin Towers (The Big Bossman & OMG). Who wins?

Erik and Ivar are big, strong, and impressive, but my money would always be on Bossman and Akeem, aka One Man Gang. The Twin Towers would win.

Have you read the reviews for the movie Queen of the Ring? Are you planning to see the movie?

If it happens to play in this town, I will go see it at the theatre. And if not, I’ll make sure to watch it as soon as it’s available streaming. All that I’ve seen and heard so far has been positive. I want to see it and learn more about the great Mildred Burke.

Is WWE dropping the ball with Damian Priest?

Priest is losing his buzz with the fans. It’s hard to blame WWE, but I just don’t see the whole babyface thing working very well. Damian, and Rhea too for that matter, with Judgment Day, was edgy and exciting. But as the good guy hero, the bloom is off the rose and he’s just another guy. Priest, in my opinion, just works better as the cool heel.

Kevin Nash said that he’s not a fan of Seth Rollins’ current persona. Thoughts?

I get what Kevin is saying. The whole cackling, laughing hyena gimmick, gets old fast and is rather annoying. And raiding Becky’s closet for the wardrobe? It sets Seth apart from the crowd, but he doesn’t need it. A serious, focused version of Seth works better in my opinion. The smart-ass on occasion is fine, but less is more. Seth would be better off just to tone it down a little bit.

Would you like to see Gabe Kidd signed to an AEW contract?

The guy is interesting and would be a good fit for the AEW madness. Kidd, if used properly, could be a breakout star for AEW and maybe even draw in a few new fans. Yeah, sign him up, Tony.

Eddie Kingston versus Mad Dog Buzz Sawyer. Who wins?

Kingston is a tough guy and a good brawler, but Sawyer got the name Mad Dog the old-fashioned way. Ole Anderson pinned it on him. But Ole gave him that name for a reason. He earned it. Sawyer would win.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects, and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
