I’m Doug, your resident Guiding Light and Party Host. And this is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Do you have questions? I have the answers. Are you ready? Let’s roll.
So, which one did you watch? AEW Dynamite or WWE Evolve?
I watched Evolve. The matches made sense and were well-produced, and I wanted to get in at the beginning. The kids, Swipe Right, made a strong impression, and the entire show was well done. A great start for the newest WWE brand.
Wheeler Yuta walked out on Moxley on AEW Dynamite. Thoughts?
So, this is their counter to Cena turning on Rhodes? They counter with Yuta walking out on Moxley. Well done, AEW. Well done.
MJF tried to set Adam Page on fire on AEW Dynamite. Thoughts?
In a show that also included stabbings, what’s a little arson and attempted murder between friends? While I can understand pushing the envelope, there is also a thing called jumping the shark. Attempted murder on live television? Even Vince Russo would call it crap. Just corny nonsense that makes no sense. Nothing more.
What would you ask Stone Cold Steve Austin if you could ask him ONE thing?
I’d probably just sit there and say, “What?”, to every comment and sound he makes. It’d be nice to let Steve see how it feels to be on the other side of that annoying chant for a change.
Travis Scott versus Bad Bunny. Who wins?
Bad Bunny is at least a serious athlete who put in the time and effort for his brief WWE adventures to make it look respectable. Scott just smokes a blunt on live TV and injures people due to carelessness. Bad Bunny wins.
It looks as if Ava is the General Manager of WWE Evolve. Is she the right person for the role?
Not really, but then again, she’s not the right person to be the GM of NXT either, but still. It’s nice to have relatives in positions of power. I would have rather seen WWE appoint William Regal to the GM role, or use Gabe Sapolsky, the actual founder of Evolve, as the on-air boss.
AJ Styles says that he would gladly return to TNA for a one-off. Which TNA star would you like to see AJ wrestle?
For a star of AJ Styles’ legacy and standing, a return to AEW deserves a top opponent. I’d go with Nic Nemeth, Mustafa Ali, or the champ himself, Joe Hendry.
Dustin Rhodes & Sammy Guevera have now been the ROH Tag Team Champions for over two hundred days. Thoughts?
And they’ve defended the titles maybe six times if that. Will anyone even remember this title reign? Does anyone even care? I like Sammy and Dustin, but this reign means absolutely nothing. It’s just like Athena’s reign as the ROH Women’s Champion. It looks good on paper, but in the big picture of things, means not a thing.
Trish Stratus, Alundra Blayze, Jazz, Lita versus Awesome Kong, Gail Kim, Victoria, and Chelsea Green. Who wins?
Talk about a match just with names being used randomly, this would be it. Eight women wrestling greats. It’s so random, that it’s hard to pick a winner. Trish and friends win, I guess. I can’t see any of them being willing to lose. Chelsea would gladly lose so long as she entertains and pops the crowd.
Are CM Punk and Seth Rollins the WWE versions of Peter Griffin and Chicken?
I’ve never thought of it like that, but looking at it now, I can see the similarities and parallels. A very good comparison. So damn true!
The Natural Disasters, Earthquake and Typhoon are set to be inducted into the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame. Thoughts?
While I’m still hoping for Demolition and The Midnight Express to make the cut, I can’t complain or object about John Tenta and Fred Ottman getting inducted. Both were solid workers and good folks, and the Natural Disasters were a strong team, very memorable, and had a great run during their time in WWE. Too bad Tenta passed a few years ago, but congratulations to his family and to Fred Ottman, aka Typhoon, on an honor that is well deserved.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects, and I’ll see you at the matches.
