Every day, my Twitter feed is filled with dozens of random questions. This is where I provide the answers. It’s Ultimate X Q&A. Let’s do this.
What’s a food you hated as a kid but love now (or still hate)?
Cabbage. I never liked it as a kid, but then I learned that eggrolls, which I love, are stuffed with cabbage. My perspective changed rather quickly.
Do you believe in true love?
It’s rare, hard to find, and even harder to keep, but it does happen. Soulmates are real.
If you could spend a year learning about one topic, what would it be and why?
Magic. I’ve spent too much time watching and reading Harry Potter over the years. My curiosity has been peaked and I want to know more. I’m expecting that letter from Hogwarts any day now and I want to be ready. It’s only 46 years late.
What is a saying that the kids today use that you can’t get or understand?
Who can understand anything the kids today say? Talk about smashing, YEET, and let me hold something. I just prefer to nod and smile and not even try to figure them out. Damn, kids!
You’ve been asked to make an eighties playlist for someone who wants to explore more from that decade…what are 3 songs you’re definitely including?
Three great songs from the ’80s that everyone should know? Kiss Me Deadly, by Lita Ford, Poison, by Alice Cooper, and Good Ol’ Boys (Theme from the Dukes of Hazard), by Waylon Jennings.
What’s more important to you: happiness or truth?
Truth. Happiness is fleeting and can be destroyed by so many things, but the truth will always can’t be ignored and once you know, you can always move forward.
The 3 Catwomen of the 1960’s! Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, Eartha Kitt! Who was your Favorite?
Julie Newmar. She was so good, that they even made a movie dedicated to her that had Patrick Swayze and Wesley Snipes dressing in Drag. If Catwoman can make Blade and the dude from Roadhouse wear dresses, she’s automatically the best one.
What is your favorite Red Hot Chili Peppers song?
Tearjerker, from the One Hot Minute album. A great song that Anthony Kiedis wrote about Kurt Cobain not long after Cobain passed away. It’s just an awesome song.
Do you ever tweet while drunk?
I tweet and I send IM’s through Facebook. And then, I either shrug or deny it when called out on it. Drunk Dougie can get a little explicit and wild sometimes.
What is one thing that makes you feel truly alive?
Spending time with my brother, the Infamous One, or having a hug-a-thon session with Eric. The presence of either of these two incredible men makes me shake off the blahs and feel energy and all warm and fuzzy in the tum tum.
Did you ever watch the Faces of Death movies?
Many, many times. Looking back now, they were kind of cheezy, but they were and are fascinating. I think I remember seeing several of them on Tubi. I may go back and check them out again.
If you could talk to Elon, what would you say?
I’d compliment him on a job well done so far with the DOGE stuff, and attempt to encourage him to help support a potential Dougie podcast, or at least just give me a job with X.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s close up the shop today. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you in the Real World.
