In a recent e-mail from a long-time reader, Jackson E., sent me several lists that he found in various places online, noting the best black wrestlers, women, tag teams, and managers. And he asked what my thoughts were on each list. Well, we’re fixing to find out. It’s Simply the Best. Are you ready to rock? Let’s roll.
BET did a list of the fifteen best black wrestlers ever. The list includes Booker T., The Rock, Kofi Kingston, Mark Henry, Mercedes Moné, Junkyard Dog, Ron Simmons, Bobby Lashley, Bianca Belair, D’Von Dudley, Big E, Jacqueline, Naomi, Shelton Benjamin, and finally Jazz. Do you agree with this list? What changes would you make?
This is a pretty decent list if the author has only been alive and watching wrestling for the past five years. So, no, I don’t agree, and yes, I would make some changes. My list would be like this.
Top 15 Black Wrestlers of All Time.

The Rock
Ron Simmons
Rocky Johnson
Bobo Brazil
Bobby Lashley
Kofi Kingston
Shelton Benjamin
Bianca Belair

Sports Illustrated did a list of who they consider the 10 Greatest WWE Women’s Wrestlers of All-TIme. Their list was Madusa, Bianca Belair, Asuka, Chyna, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Lita, Trish Stratus, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch. Do you agree with this list? What changes would you make?
This list was focused on wrestlers who worked in the WWE, so I’ll stick with their guidelines and use only WWE talents.

WWE did a list ranking the Greatest Wrestling Managers of All Time. Their Top 15 from this list are: Vickie Guerrero, Paul Ellering, Miss Elizabeth, Sunny, Mr. Fuji, Jim Cornette, Arnold Skaaland, Paul Bearer, The Grand Wizard, Sensational Sherri, Captain Lou Albano, Freddie Blassie, Jimmy Hart, Paul Heyman, and Bobby Heenan. WWE’s list only has managers who were part of the WWE, which explains a lot of notable absences. So, what would be your list of the 15 Greatest Wrestling Managers of All Time? Make two lists – one of just WWE Managers and one of the Managers who worked in other areas as well.
For the first list, I’ll stick with only managers who were stars and featured in the WWE.
