Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
Boxing great George Foreman passed away a few days ago. What are your thoughts & memories of Foreman?
I know the name, of course, and Foreman was a legend in the world of boxing. Even for a non-fan of the sport, I’ve heard about this man and his prowess in the ring. What I best remember and know about Foreman though, is the George Foreman Grill, which my sister had, and made some great burgers, plus his habit of naming all his children George. A true character and an iconic figure in every sense of the word. My condolences to his family, fans, and friends. Rest in Peace, Mr. Foreman. You will be missed.
Should Jey Uso win the World Championship at WrestleMania 41?
If I was doing the booking, I would say no. Jey is popular and a great character, but Gunther is the better in-ring wrestler and deserves to keep his championship.
Do you believe The Undertaker used his backstage influence to get Michelle McCool on WWE LFG?
I don’t think he pushed for it, but I think WWE and the people in charge of WWE LFG are doing things to keep The Undertaker happy regardless if he asked for it or not. And since a happy wife means a happy life, Mickie gets the boot and Michelle gets the spot on WWE LFG.
Jacob Fatu will most likely become a champion very soon after Wrestlemania, but what’s next for Solo?
A strong position in the upper mid-card, more issues with Roman as the Bloodline story continues, and given his antics against Gunther last night in England after their loss to Cody & CM Punk in a tag match, possibly a program with the Ring General. Regardless of what the future holds for Solo, I doubt he’ll sit at home or in catering very often. He’ll be okay.
Have you ever noticed that they always announce how much the men weigh but never announce how much the women weigh?
What’s the old saying about never asking a woman about her age or weight? Most of the women in WWE can legit kick some ass and nobody is going to risk making them mad, thus the weight question is often ignored, as it should be.
Sami Zayn has played a big role at #WrestleMania in recent years, so it feels weird that he’s been MIA from this year’s build. Think he’ll return before Mania, at Mania, or on the RAW after? What do you think?
If Sami isn’t a part of a match at Mania, he’ll still be there in some other role. Of that, I have no doubt.
Who has more potential as a future World Champion? Will Ospreay or Montez Ford?
Ospreay, but only because he’s in AEW where actual talent, charisma, and ability aren’t as much of a factor as being the flavor of the month for the boss currently is. Montez has the charisma, talent, and ability to be a World Champion, and most likely, at some point, he’ll achieve that honor. But just based on where they work, Ospreay will most likely achieve it first.
The Russians, Ivan Koloff, Nikita Koloff, and Krusher Kruschev, versus Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, and Carlito) w/ Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez. Who wins?
This would be a fun match, and with the ladies at ringside, it would be far closer than it would be otherwise. But have no doubts. The winners in the end would be Uncle Ivan, Nikita, and Krusher.
What are your thoughts & memories of Andrew Martin, aka Test?
A talented guy with a lot of charisma. Test was a good wrestler, albeit a bit green at times, who suffered from the booking of the time. He had a good run, but the Vince McMahon booking, plus the craziness of the time, worked against him. If he was still alive and wrestling today, he’d be in a Drew McIntyre-like position and at the top of the card. A talented performer who achieved a lot, but had the potential for so much more.
If you had a choice to keep one and forever eliminate the other, WCW or AEW, what would you choose?
I was a big fan of WCW. I’ve admittingly never been a big fan of AEW, and at times, it’s unwatchable to me. I’d pick WCW for sure.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects, and I’ll see you at the matches.
