Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
When the time comes, who should retire Roman Reigns in his final match?
It’s hard to pick any single person right now considering that we don’t know how much longer Roman plans to wrestle, what company he’ll be with when the eventual retirement happens, or who the top stars will be when it happens. Anything I say will be speculation. But to throw a name out there, let’s go with Jacob Fatu with the honors, the name is subject to change.
Should WWE reach out to Gail Kim and offer her a job as a Producer/Agent?
Gail Kim would be a remarkable asset for WWE, be it in the ring or behind the scenes. WWE should definitely reach out and have a conversation.
Do you think Jaida Parker will make it big on the main roster within 3 years?
Three years? Yes, I think that’s a safe assumption. She’s a talented worker and continues to improve every week. She’s not quite a main-roster level as of yet, but it’s coming and she’s getting there.
Swerve Strickland says that black wrestlers in the WWE aren’t marketed or treated fairly. Thoughts?
Swerve is just running the mouth to be running his mouth. Ask Bianca or Jade if they’ve been treated fairly. Considering that the majority of the talent on the WWE main roster are people of color, it’s a stupid statement. Swerve didn’t get his way and now he cries and complains. But the facts don’t back him up.
What are your thoughts on The Living Legacy, Tim Zbyszko?
A solid wrestler. A charismatic dude. But has never had opportunities in big companies despite, or maybe because of his last name. I’d love to see Zbyszko work in the NWA or MLW and get a major push. I’m sure he would open some eyes. Zbyszko has all the potential to be a major star, but the stars just haven’t aligned correctly as of yet.
Has Cody been the champion too long and gotten stale? Is John Cena the right solution?
Cody has gotten a bit stale and repetitive. Babyfaces tend to be better challengers than champions most of the time. The thrill is the chase, but once they’ve scored, the excitement seems to fade. I don’t know if Cena is the right answer or not, but that’s who we have right now. He’s better than many others on the roster, so we’re best to just wait and see how it all goes.
So far, Ric Flair hasn’t commented on John Cena invoking his name on RAW Monday night. Do you think he doesn’t know yet, or is he staying quiet for a reason?
Ric probably hasn’t sobered up enough to notice yet. Okay, I’m kidding. It seems that Ric has responded and there is an interview with TMZ where Flair talks about John Cena and the possibility of Cena beating his record of sixteen recognized World Championships. I haven’t read it yet, but it’s out there if anyone cares.
Mariah May’s AEW contract allegedly expires this summer. Do you think she’ll stay with AEW, or will she leave to try her luck elsewhere like WWE or TNA?
Most likely, I expect Mariah May to stay with AEW. She’s okay in the ring, but I don’t think she’d do as well in NXT or WWE. The competition would be too strong and I just feel she’d be overwhelmed. If AEW makes an offer and wants to keep her, that would be her smartest and best option.
Do you feel like the Cena “turn” was impulsively decided at the last minute, or are they taking it slow with his segments?
It just seems as if they’re making it up as they go. Maybe some ideas were tossed out there in the beginning, but things just don’t seem to be clicking. And what has happened to The Rock? He instigated the whole deal but hasn’t been mentioned on television by name since the Elimination Chamber PLE. If this was all planned, WWE didn’t think it through very well.
Luna Vachon versus Nikki Cross. Who wins?
I love me some Nikki Cross and when given an opportunity, she’s a talented woman with some great potential. But against Luna Vachon, the potential doesn’t matter. Luna was a legend. Luna Vachon wins.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects, and I’ll see you at the matches.
