Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host and Guiding Light. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
If Miro/Rusev were to come back to the WWE, how would you have his debut? Would Lana be with him or not?
My guess is since he and CJ Perry have reunited and renewed their marriage vows, she’ll be part of the package at some point. I’d make it farther down the line rather than at Rusev’s debut. And how would I have his debut? How about an open challenge by either the United States or Intercontinental Champion declare an open challenge, and have Aiden English, formerly of the Vaudevillains, come out to accept, but not for himself? Since it’s a special day, the champ deserves a special challenger. And English declares that it is Rusev Day! And here comes Rusev for the match.
With what happened with Punk in the end in AEW was it a mistake bringing him in? Or do the highs outweigh the lows?
Whatever happened in AEW doesn’t matter. The WWE made the right call to bring Punk back, and he’s proven from Day One that it was the right decision. The audience reactions, the great matches, and the merchandise sales back that argument up.
Do you have a favorite wrestler you’ve struggled to keep at the top of your list? I always had Jericho in my Mount Rushmore but it’s been a struggle recently to justify keeping him there.
Jericho easily fits that description. WWE Jericho, I was a fan. AEW Jericho, I turn the TV off. Cesaro is another one. I was a big fan of Cesaro, but now he’s just an afterthought and hard to watch.
If there was a single 1v1 match you could make happen, regardless of companies, dead or alive, any match you could make happen what would it be?
Off the top of my head, the first dream match that comes to mind would be Stone Cold Steve Austin versus Blackjack Mulligan.
Who do you think is the best enhancement talent of all time?
Many names come to mind such as Joey Maggs, Mark Starr, Rick McGraw, Scott McGhee, Johnny Weaver, Swede Hanson (in their later years), and S.D. Jones. But the best, I’ll go with George South.
You often mention that Tony Khan has signed too many wrestlers. At what point in time did AEW have the perfect amount of wrestlers?
Khan went crazy from Day One with AEW, hiring anyone and everyone that he seemingly met, or was recommended to him. AEW has always had too many wrestlers on the roster, and they still do.
Dick Slater versus Jon Moxley. Who wins?
Moxley reminds me of Slater in many ways, but to paraphrase a famous quote from a Vice-Presidential debate many years ago, Moxley is no Dick Slater. Slater would brawl for a while, draw some blood, and then take it home for a pin.
What are Your thoughts on Liv Morgan?
Liv has really grown as a performer over the past year. She had potential, but with the Dirty Dom storyline, she became a character and has turned into a great heel. Plus, she’s also become a bump machine who can make anyone look like a badass. Liv has transformed into a top talent for WWE and has come a long way, baby.
So what happens when John Cena loses to Cody Rhodes?
The fans cheer and wrestling moves on to the next chapter, as it should. Cena moves to another feud with maybe CM Punk, while Cody moves on to deal with Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre.
What is your Mount Rushmore of Pro Wrestling big men?
Off the top of my head, I’d go with Andre the Giant, The Undertaker, Yokozuna, and Crusher Jerry Blackwell.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well, my friends. Watch out for foreign objects, and I’ll see you at the matches.
